Thursday, April 30, 2015. April re-cap - back in the water (finally) and a month of surreal sunsets. If it wasn't one thing it was another, but for the 1st time singe I began surfing I was out of the water for 3 months (not counting Tortola). The main reason was all the snow - it was that debilitating. Any free time was spent shoveling the roof, only to make way for the next blizzard. And even when you were able to get out, where could you go? Seeing my 1st Red Sox-Yankees game ever. Links to this post.

Wednesday, June 17, 2015. Visitez la Côte Basque - Good Idea? Howdy surf brethren and sistren,. Mid-September I'll be taking 2 weeks off, and I'd like to go someplace epic to surf. I turned 50 recently, so time to stop dreamin' and time to start doin'. I lived in France from '85 to '87 teaching high school English in Paris, and can still speak French reasonably well (no Spanish, sadly). This was long before I surfed, so I never made it down to the Côte Basque. So has anyone been there? Links to this post.

Tuesday, January 20, 2015. Tortola Diary part 1. After sorely missing it last year Tortola in the lovely British Virgin Islands was a sight for sore eyes. And.a cane Garden Bay session can be crossed of the bucket list now, even though I got throttled there, broke a leash, dinged the board, and had to swim back to the pier. But let's focus on the positive, it was pumping the 1st day, fun the next 2, and small for the duration of the trip. Surf on all but one of the days, but good times all the time.

We just wrapped up an evening of forcible entry and search and rescue. Station 21 is going to be rebuilt but before it is BIFD has allowed us to use it as a prop for training all week.
