Monday, May 24, 2010. Freshman Track Was Beast! Cassie closed out her freshman track season with a stellar performance at the district championships Friday. She competed in the 1500 (above) and finished the race with a PR, 5:02, placing 6th! As she lined up for her other race, the 800, the rain came a-tumblin' down! Taking advantage of its match-up with Pacific Conference newcomer Hillsboro, Newberg shuffled its lineup and swept the Spartans in a dual meet Thursday at the Chehalem Aquatic Center. The girls won 10 of 11 events for an easy 122-48 victory, while the boys won just five but placed three swimmers in the top four nine times to win 105-65. Wednesday, April 27, 2011. The Joy of Relay History Being Made. One of Cassie's teammates took these amazing pictures at the state high school swimming championships back on Feb. 19th. He captured the anticipation and excitement of the 400 medley relay where these NHS girls captured the title (upsetting Jesuit) and set a new school record time.
