Musings of a Twiftie. A teen writing for teens. After a loooong hiatus… June 15, 2010. 8212; maenadwrites @ 10:02 pm. Wow, I haven’t posted anything in longer than forever! To express my sincerest apologies, have a snip from my new WIP (again, I know) “The People Watcher”, in which a new character is introduced. Enjoy! Isn’t this place lovely? So quaint and rustic and adorable! We’ll have so much fun, I just know it. Oh, what’s your name? Why can’t you just tell me? June 15, 2010 at 10:17 pm. I really li...

Musings of a Twiftie. A teen writing for teens. Writing What You Don’t Know October 23, 2010. 8212; maenadwrites @ 11:11 pm. First of all, sorry for the hiatus. But I’m back, and ready to ramble! So read, and tell me what you think about writing what we don’t know! Every writer on the planet has heard the saying. Write what you know. I don’t know about you guys, but one of my favorite parts of being a writer is writing what I don’t know. Either way, you don’t know anything about these places. You’ve ...

Musings of a Twiftie. A teen writing for teens. Teaser tuesdays make for dull post titles April 6, 2010. 8212; maenadwrites @ 8:58 pm. Finally, it’s been like forever. Anyway, this is from a new WIP, titled ‘Adventures of the Unaverage’. I’ve always wanted to write a series of short stories to post online, just for fun. After about a million failed ideas, I think this is The One! No, not that The One, the other The One. So, enjoy this snip, and hopefully you can read the rest soon! I have to leave now.

Musings of a Twiftie. A teen writing for teens. Five Books, Five Stars January 18, 2011. Filed under: five books five stars. 8212; maenadwrites @ 4:49 pm. Recently (like, last week) I moved from Guatemala to Florida. What I love the most about the US is the libraries. So many books! THE A-LIST – ZOEY DEAN. GIRLS ON FILM – ZOEY DEAN. Like the first book in the A-List series, it was well written and easy to read. ZD is absolutely amazing at writing the lives-of-the-rich-and-famous thing. However, t...What ...

Musings of a Twiftie. A teen writing for teens. Captivating thursday the first April 8, 2010. Filed under: captivating thursday. 8212; maenadwrites @ 9:28 pm. Captivating Thursday is a meme hosted by Choco/Meg. That showcases beautiful things–whether it be photos, quotes, poetry, music, videos, or anything else that I happen upon. I am reading this amazing book, “The Best Young Writers and Artists in America: We Are Quiet, We Are Loud.” What makes this book so awesome? 8216;Spark’ Samuel Lansey. The feel...

Tuesday, May 25, 2010. Teaser Tuesday - A LITTLE TOO LATE. By lunch time my pregnancy and break-up with Adam was all over the school. People stared at me in the halls, several guys made lewd comments and offered their bedroom skills and Elijah was being wonderful. I still couldn’t believe he protected me against Adam. 8220;How are you? 8221; Sanjay asked, his face scrunched up. Keisha plopped down across from him. “How do you think, Sanj? Haven’t you heard all the gossip in the halls? Elijah put his fork...

Random Ramblings: Homeschooling
http://musingsofjswood.blogspot.com/2012/03/homeschooling.html
Monday, March 26, 2012. I've been homeschooling for ten years and that seems like a long time. This year I put my girls in school and it has been a crazy experience. It's amazing what so many teachers think of homeschoolers. Some of the comments:. You're doing so well with your grammar work and improved so much since your mother didn't teach you to write." Really? So those papers from last year don't count? And how about when my twelve year old writes about Shakespeare's play and how much she loved Puck?

Tuesday, August 10, 2010. Teaser Tuesday - Mountain Escape. This is a teaser from my SNI (shiny new idea). Currently I have an entire chapter written :) This is at the end of the first chapter. 8220;Be careful,” Samantha said. “It’s been raining, so it’s really wet.” Her tone was more nice than condescending, but it still bugged me. If only my parents could see me now. They’d probably regret not sending me to Juvie. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). View my complete profile. Confessions of a YA Writer. Old Peo...
