Bluelightful, bluelicious, bluelovely. Tuesday, March 31, 2009. The chickpea-flour pancake. So. perfect. And I can't believe I haven't yet taken a picture of it for all of you. (If you follow my Twitter, you might notice that I tweet about the chickpea-flour pancake way too much. You'll know when it's done. That is to say, you'll know when it's started to burn. Stop right before that point. Recipe itself at the link), but you can put just about anything in there, including sliced fruit and honey. Tonight...

Nature Needs a New Pronoun: To Stop the Age of Extinction, Let's Start by Ditching "It". We humans look rather different from a tree. Without a doubt we perceive the world differently than a tree does. But down deep, at the molecular heart of life, the trees and we are essentially identical. - Carl Sagan. Nature Needs a New Pronoun: To Stop the Age of Extinction, Let's Start by Ditching "It". By Robin Wall Kimmerer. Syndicated from Yes Magazine. Jun 06, 2015. And yet in English, we speak of our beloved G...

Stories of Humility in Atlanta. Stories of Humility in Atlanta. Stories of Humility in Atlanta. Jul 6, 2015. Day before yesterday, at the International Convention Center in Atlanta, Georgia, I had the opportunity to speak at the annual Jain Convention. Thousands had gathered, civil rights heroes John Lewis and Andrew Young spoke before me, and I then delivered a talk on a first-time topic for me: The Radical Power of Humility. Projects I'm Involved With. The meta gift-economy experiment.

Gift economy - our dance has no admission fee - Soul Sanctuary Dance - Freestyle Ecstatic Community Dance in Berkeley, California
http://www.soulsanctuarydance.com/gift-economy.html
Bay Area Dance Calendar. The dance is a gift. Why is Soul Sanctuary Dance volunteer-produced and offered as a gift without an admission fee? Our mission is to produce a welcoming and inclusive all-ages community freestyle dance that supports free expression, community, physical and emotional health, and a spirit of generosity. An all volunteer produced dance offered as a gift is the best way we can see to further that mission. Is this a viable "business model"? How is it going? Is the dance really a gift?
