There are some nice homemade wooden dollies created just for this purpose which you can find on the Samba, and if I were removing the pan I would have made one, but in this case it was faster and cheaper to use these jacks. I like to think of the Karmann Ghia. As an extension of our family. My Dad purchased a brand new red Ghia in the mid 1960s. Since then my daughter, nephew, and I, have all owned/own a Karmann Ghia. The above is me and my. 1971 Karmann Ghia Coupe. Her new name is Ghia Girl. (She was previously known as Miss Banana). My Dad's Ghia in the 60's. Dad warming his Ghia and shoveling snow on Hollyhock Rd., Granger, IN. After lots of hard work! I need a date for the prom! Circa 1996 (Darlington, SC).

But, interestingly enough there's nothing on this blog about that. Curious, very curious. I did find out that the CV joints on the right side are both worn out with pitting on the races. But, the pitting only occurs on one side of the grooves in the races because the axle only torques in one direction to driv...

The Druckenmiller Karmann Ghia Blog. Tuesday, March 27, 2007. I got the Ghia out of storage today and took it for a couple of drives. Started right up and still running like a champ. I cut the wires I was using to hold open the heater flaps and re-adjusted the timing, too. That's why I wanted to check and re-set my timing. I wasn't sure if they'd gotten that right.
