MEK's Meanderings
http://meksmeanderings.blogspot.com/2012/04/i-write-like-h.html
Tuesday, April 24, 2012. I found this on Facebook thanks to Marius whose blog can be found here http:/ mariuscorner.blogspot.co.uk/. He was happy with his writing style being likened to the great Arthur C Clarke. By Mémoires, journal software. I have to admit I was pretty chuffed with Lovecraft. Though I assure you I differ greatly in mindset towards other things! Posted by Mary F. Woah Depending on what I posted for analysis, I write like H.P. Lovecraft, Arthur C. Clarke, and James Joyce!

MEK's Meanderings: February 2012
http://meksmeanderings.blogspot.com/2012_02_01_archive.html
Wednesday, February 29, 2012. Takings Steps @ Oldham Coliseum Theatre. This was the final play on my current season ticket. Also the first one to be housed in the theatre's temporary home of The Grange Arts Centre. I wasn't sure this was going to be a play for me, the word farce had me a little worried. Some farce tickles my laughter nerve, a lot more leaves me cold. Each character had hilarious moments. How the cast kept a straight face is beyond me. Certainly the audience was doubled up. He alerted his...

MEK's Meanderings: Remaking Robocop? SPOILERS GALORE
http://meksmeanderings.blogspot.com/2014/02/remaking-robocop-spoilers-galore.html
Sunday, February 9, 2014. When I first heard of this remake I was slightly worried. I'm a big fan of the original film and couldn't think of a reason it needed to be remade. This is a film for our time. Compared to the original it has to be longer with more of an emotional arc. Hence the extra scenes concerning wife and family. Scenes I could live without. If there was no comparison piece I would probably have enjoyed this much more. I went in with my negative 'what's the need? 2 pawprints out of 5.

ToxicMovies: The Godfather: Part 2 (1974)
http://toxicmovies.blogspot.com/2012/08/the-godfather-part-2-1974.html
An opportunity for me to review films I see and say what I think of them. Sunday, 5 August 2012. The Godfather: Part 2 (1974). The second film the trilogy from Francis Ford Coppola and the first sequel to win the best Picture Oscar, as you will see from my review of part 1, earlier today. In part two you also get Don Vito Corleone’s early story as you follow Robert DeNiro playing a young Don as he comes to. Or is everybody else wrong? Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Bird on a Wire (1990). Wes Cravens...

ToxicMovies: Rits, Sue and Bob Too (1987)
http://toxicmovies.blogspot.com/2012/08/rits-sue-and-bob-too-1987.html
An opportunity for me to review films I see and say what I think of them. Friday, 3 August 2012. Rits, Sue and Bob Too (1987). I really enjoyed this film though I am not the biggest fan of British films from the 80’s I feel they date to quickly, probably as I can actually remember the 80’s. This film is only really dated by the fashion and the cars everything else could still be from last year, overall this is a 7 out of 10 film, well worth seeing. Rita Sue and Bob Too. ToxicMovies: Eraser (1996)
http://toxicmovies.blogspot.com/2012/08/eraser-1996.html
An opportunity for me to review films I see and say what I think of them. Wednesday, 1 August 2012. The set pieces in this film are fun in the unbelievable sense, jumping out of a plane, shooting the glass on the crocodile enclosure and the real threat with a suicide in front of you. This film struggles to find the right balance between fun comedy and serious action. The bad guys are believable but the comedy sidekick is pushing it a little, overall it lends to a jumbled experience. Bird on a Wire (1990).

ToxicMovies: Clear and Present Danger (1994)
http://toxicmovies.blogspot.com/2012/08/clear-and-present-danger-1994.html
An opportunity for me to review films I see and say what I think of them. Wednesday, 8 August 2012. Clear and Present Danger (1994). With Willem Dafoe as an operative in. This is a fun packed film with lots of good acting and plenty of explosions for the boys; I think there is too much going on and this probably has a lot to do with the size of The Tom Clancy books and the difficulty in trying to condense them in to a two hour film. Overall an enjoyable film and should been seen as a 7 out of 10. Welcome...

ToxicMovies: The Godfather (1972)
http://toxicmovies.blogspot.com/2012/08/the-godfather-1972.html
An opportunity for me to review films I see and say what I think of them. Sunday, 5 August 2012. The classic gangster film from the 70’s based upon the book by Mario Puzo it follows the Corleone family, starting at the wedding of the daughter where you get to meet all the family from the Father played by Marlon Brando to the boys played by James Caan as Sonny. Would really appreciate people putting me right on this as I feel I am missing something and even though I did enjoy it I feel let down by it.

MEK's Meanderings: December 2011
http://meksmeanderings.blogspot.com/2011_12_01_archive.html
Monday, December 5, 2011. I Need a Little More Help. You may have seen my post about the reading challenge I have set myself for 2012. The post can be found here. I have had many, may replies for which I am very grateful. I still have a few categories which I'm bereft or low on suggestions for though. This is the one I'm most eager to get into as I am really at a loss here. Novels Set In or Around Manchester. I can probably find books in my local library for this but a recommendation is always sweeter.
