The proposal to begin a lake sustainability planning process (also known as lake planning ) was approved at the July 2011 KLA Annual General Meeting, with the understanding that the plan will need to be approved by the KLA membership once it is completed. The volunteer Lake Sustainability Planning committee completed the process of gathering information from the community to understand the key values and concerns. The results of this research were presented at the 2012 KLA Annual General Meeting (AGM).
