My Continuing Adventures in Literature and Life. Thursday, May 7, 2015. Terms of Enlistment (Science Fiction). What would you do if you were desperate? Through the character of Andrew Grayson, who lives in the not so distant future, Marko Kloos explores that question in the novel Terms of Enlistment. As I’ve said repeatedly, I am not a lover of military fiction, even if it is science fiction. The fact that I even ended up reading Terms of Enlistment. At least it has space aliens in it. We will see.

Is the first spy thriller that I remember having read. It is also one of the first times I turned reading a novel into part of a larger event. I had just started watching Legends. In which case, what experiences do I want? What do I want to explore? Why doesn’t the CIA want Odem to find Samat? They would rather...

My Continuing Adventures in Literature and Life. Wednesday, January 28, 2015. The Happiness Advantage (Self-Help/Business Book). Most self-help authors don’t bother to mention the fact that they did not actually. A police car. But for Shawn Achor that personal fact becomes a vivid teaching point. His stories and metaphors make The Happiness Advantage. Memorable. His life experiences and academic credentials make the book credible. On top of that, The Happiness Advantage. Is very, very practical. By Steve...

The seventh book in the Chet and Bernie Series. (See my reactions to The Sound and the Furry. A Fistful of Collars. The Dog Who Knew Too Much. And To Fetch a Thief. My Continuing Adventures in Literature and Life. Wednesday, November 19, 2014. I was searching for a book about imagination when I came across Imager. By LE Modesitt, Jr. I almost forgot what a joy it is to start reading a new series, watching how the various conflicts and storylines are set into motion. There are so many little presents to unwrap in the novels to come. My dominant feeling was curiosity as I turned the pages. The world of Imager. Labels: Science fiction and fantasy. Reativity is a renewa...
