Tuesday, June 9, 2015. I'm so sad :(. A nation divided against itself cannot stand. Abraham Lincoln said that and he was right. So let's break it down here:. You don't like the color of someone's skin? My solution: Grow up! It's just skin and the color of one's skin does not make that person good or bad. You don't like someone's religious ideas? You don't agree with someone's political ideals? Someone said/did/ate/wore something that offended you? Our world is full of diversity and beauty in all colors, ...

Stepping Heavenward: Our World is slipping away...
http://mom-stepping-heavenward.blogspot.com/2015/04/our-world-is-slipping-away.html
Thursday, April 30, 2015. Our World is slipping away. Never before in my life have I witnessed so much hate. So much anger. So much divisiveness. Never before have I felt so helpless and hopeless about the state of our nation. About the heart and soul of this country that used to be so great. Why are people tearing up cities, burning businesses, attacking police officers, and throwing around the race card? Why are 40% of our nations prisoners black when only 13% of our nations entire population is black?

Stepping Heavenward: March 2014
http://mom-stepping-heavenward.blogspot.com/2014_03_01_archive.html
Tuesday, March 18, 2014. Love in the face of hate. Several news outlets this week have reported on the fact that Fred Phelps Sr.- founder of the Westboro Baptist Church in Kansas- is ill and near death. His family has asked for respect and privacy at this time and that no one picket his funeral. They threatened to picket the funerals of the children who died at Sandy Hook. Turning something so intensely painful for the parents of these precious children into an agenda full of hate. The Jesus in me says t...

Stepping Heavenward: February 2014
http://mom-stepping-heavenward.blogspot.com/2014_02_01_archive.html
Sunday, February 23, 2014. A hard headed church. I went to church with the girls this morning and I'm cautiously optimistic about this church we went to. We're searching for a new church, one that will be our home. My stipulations are thus:. Bible believing and teaching. Active in the community. Strong on social issues. Not afraid to speak the truth. Then things got good.so good! He was right there in that sanctuary moving me to tears. I couldn't have stopped if I'd wanted to and I didn't want to! Ask, S...

Stepping Heavenward: November 2014
http://mom-stepping-heavenward.blogspot.com/2014_11_01_archive.html
Thursday, November 6, 2014. Being a woman is hard! Congratulations, you've been born and you're a girl! In some countries that's a death sentence right there.just being a girl can get you killed or abandoned. Seems people want sons. Even my own dad told my mother, "You will give me sons." He was teasing of course but God showed him who's boss and Daddy ended up with 4 daughters who adore him.and no sons! You can't throw the ball right, you can't run fast enough, and your hair gets in the way of everything.

Sunday, June 15, 2014. Walking through the Valley. As Christians we have that blessed hope of an eternity spent with God The Father, God The Son, and God The Holy Spirit. We live each day in this broken world, suffering the things this broken world dishes out, enduring hurts of every kind but still we cling to the hope that is promised in the Word of God.the hope of salvation and the knowledge that we do not endure alone. Thursday, April 16, 2015. Don't sell your vote! Hello my loyal and faithful readers. I'm so glad you're here because I have a challenge for you, a task of utmost importance. If you're not already, please educate yourself. Research, study, and get informed about the people who are running. What do they believe? What are their political ideas and ideals? What does their track record look like? What have they done for this nation that has helped or hurt the people? Does this person's values match your own?

Stepping Heavenward: Poetry
http://mom-stepping-heavenward.blogspot.com/p/poetry.html
I love the whole idea of the Biblical account of Creation. What a wonder it would have been to witness it as God breathed the world into being. I wrote this poem after reading Genesis 1, in awe of the miracle of it all. Time began one lonely day when God sat on His throne. Looking down upon the earth He tired of being alone. With a sweep of His hand and words filled with might,. He said, "This is good." When He created the light. Day two began when in the blink of an eye. Adam was put in charge of it all.
