Roma 2009

Wednesday, April 15, 2009. So it turns out that wasn't my last Rome blog! I ended up going on a day trip to Tivoli today, and saw some really great things. Interior, with service going on! The 'sails' are supposed to represent the church. As a boat- I think he just thought it looked cool. Our next stop was the ancient Villa of Hadrian. Hadrian was a Roman emperor who started ruling in 127AD- he built this giant complex of buildings as an escape from Rome. A model of the ancient villa. Our final stop of t...

Roma 2009: March 2009

http://kategoestorome.blogspot.com/2009_03_01_archive.html

Monday, March 30, 2009. Last Thursday we went on another walk, this time to the giant palazzi that populate Rome. The first one we visited was Palazzo della Cancelleria (Palace of the Chancellory), the seat of the vice-chancellor of the papacy. He's basically the head bureaucrat of the papacy, but they dont want him to get a big head so they call him the vice-chancellor even though theres no chancellor. Courtyard of the Cancelleria. The church of San Lorenzo in Damaso,. The rear of Palazzo Farnese. Rococ...

Roma 2009: 3.28 Fabriano

http://kategoestorome.blogspot.com/2009/04/328-fabriano.html

Saturday, April 4, 2009. Last Saturday (whew, that seems like forever ago) we all took a trip to the tiny little town of Fabriano, in Umbria. Fabriano is apparently world-famous for their papermaking, and we went to the paper museum and got to make some paper of our own! The main piazza in Fabriano. The 'grand atrium' of Fabriano,. Which looks down into the piazza. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). View my complete profile.

Roma 2009: January 2009

http://kategoestorome.blogspot.com/2009_01_01_archive.html

Saturday, January 31, 2009. I'm also headed to the Via Portuense flea market tomorrow for some site research, but also for the flea market- its the largest in Europe, and its only a 5 minute walk from our housing. It'll definitely be a day of bargaining. This week also brought some contact from home: a card from my mom, an e-card from Carolyn, and a HUGE bouquet from my dad:. Thursday, January 29, 2009. The Engine Room in the Centrale Montemartini Museum. Tuesday, January 27, 2009. Next to the Ara Pacis).

Kate Goes to China

Kate Goes to China. Sunday, April 20, 2014. It's been too long. (Read this before Qingmingjie post). Note: This was supposed to be posted two weeks ago, but because I am technologically inept, I saved it instead of publishing it. Please forgive me T.T. You're probably wondering why I haven't posted anything new on my blog for a while. It's a mix of reasons. I'm very sorry that this first half sounds really depressing. I will now tell you some positive things about this semester. I was very happy to have ...

Kate goes to India

Kate goes to India. Wednesday, December 3, 2008. Home safe and sound. With a slight cold and loose motions - but who can ask for anything more? And thus ends the India blog. Well, there might be one more conclusive one in me tomorrow, but I'm not making any promises. So in case this is the last blog, thanks for reading and the comments and all the support. I have so many amazing people in my life and I love you all and I can't wait to trap each of you in a corner and talk your ears off. Last day in Calcu...

Keep up with my adventures while i'm working in uganda…. Back in the US. January 14, 2010 by kate. I have put off posting a final posting because somehow that means that this journey has ended. However, I know that parts of this experience will live on in me forever. I was undoubtedly changed in the two months I lived in Uganda.
