Keisai Eisen 69 Stations of the Kisokaido Plate 8. Tagged 53 stages of the tokaido. Sixty nine stations of the kisokaido. Title: Konosu Station, View of Mt Fuji from Fukiage. The traveller in the center of the print looks to be carrying goods on his shoulder with a bamboo pole, preparing to have a smoke from his pipe. Shikoku is host to the famous 88 temple pilgrimage. It is said to take up to 3 months to complete the 1200km. The first people to walk the complete route were monks from Mt Koya.
