Kate's In Korea!: My Sassy Girl
http://kates-in-korea.blogspot.com/2010/12/my-sassy-girl.html
Here I am, in Seoul, South Korea, sharing my adventures with you. Thursday, December 9, 2010. In an attempt to be truly Korean, Vroni and I spent the evening watching My Sassy Girl. A 2001 classic Korean romantic comedy) in a DVDbang ( bang. DVDbangs let you pick a movie from their collection to watch in the cozy comfort of a private room - complete with leather couch and leg rests, blankets, and heaters! It's the only romantic comedy I've ever see that didn't show a single kiss! Bring out the big guns!

http://kates-in-korea.blogspot.com/2010/12/hongdae-art-coffee-and-cats.html
Here I am, in Seoul, South Korea, sharing my adventures with you. Wednesday, December 8, 2010. Hongdae: Art, Coffee, and Cats. Hongdae is the area around Hongik University. (In Korean, university is taehakyo. So Hondae is just a combination of HOKgik TAEhakyo. Pretty cool, huh? It's trendy and hip, with lots of shopping opportunities, restaurants, and coffeeshops. I guess when most people here live in small apartments, pets are a special luxury. I totally recommend it. December 9, 2010 at 9:14 AM. Americ...

http://kates-in-korea.blogspot.com/2010_08_01_archive.html
Here I am, in Seoul, South Korea, sharing my adventures with you. Tuesday, August 31, 2010. First Day of School! I hope all Mondays can be like this. This is what I saw walking to my first class. This old, adorable couple is apparently the groundskeepers for the street where I live! Everything here feels so Asian. First class = Environment and International Relations. I liked it.). Please note the exactly two. Fries, the perfectly. Divided corn/peas, and the tiny. To give you an idea, that's like $4 USD!

Kate's In Korea!: In front of them all.
http://kates-in-korea.blogspot.com/2010/12/in-front-of-them-all.html
Here I am, in Seoul, South Korea, sharing my adventures with you. Sunday, December 5, 2010. In front of them all. Vroni and me, with North Korea in the background. Because we were special guests and not on an official tour, we walked around the military camp Bonifas a little bit before joining a USO tour to Panmunjon ( 판 문점. NK on the right, SK on the left. We had to walk 2 by 2 in straight lines. The door to NK! The scariest gift shop - but never miss a chance to make a sale! The recreation room (where ...

...down with itchy feet: November 2010
http://lookingforgimchi.blogspot.com/2010_11_01_archive.html
Down with itchy feet. Dienstag, 30. November 2010. It was a chilly evening in midnovember, when Kate and I decided to hear the bells of Jogyesa. The largest Buddhist shrine of Seoul. We found the temple hidden somewhere in the skyscraper forest. It was a strange Christmasy spirit in the air, as it was already dark and three giant smiling Buddha statues were shining through the windows of the main building. I like the Buddhism already although I don't know much about it, because it seems that all the answ...

Down with itchy feet. Donnerstag, 9. Dezember 2010. A cabinet for two. As I have just one more week left here in Seoul I started to work through a long list of things I ever wanted to do here or need to do another time before going back home. Not surprisingly this includes also to eat a lot of food.I'm still not overeaten on Korean food so I try to eat as much as possible. ;). Tonight it the decision fell to a classical chicken and beer. To tick off another point on my list, Kate and I went to a DVD Bang.

http://lookingforgimchi.blogspot.com/2010/12/first-real-snow.html
Down with itchy feet. Mittwoch, 8. Dezember 2010. Today was the first day I actually felt that Christmas is coming. Kate and I started that chilly wednesday with a Cappuccino at our favourite coffeeshop with the best but at the same time cheapest coffee in Seoul. Then we walked about 15 minutes to the Jangnyeongsi Herbal. We always stuck to our intent.well until today. We were told that they raise special dogs to eat, that they wouldn't cook any pet-dogs. Unfortunately Kate and I had to see a...And now t...

Down with itchy feet. Freitag, 3. Dezember 2010. A VIP glanze to Northkorea. Demilitarised zone) is a buffer zone between North- and Southkorea. It is 250km long and about 4km wide and the most heavily militarized border in the world. It is only possible to visit it within a guided tour. Thanks to Kate, who attracted some American soldiers attention in the subway, we got free tickets for the DMZ tour. We had lunch together with them in their cafeteria, just American food but I had a yummy Philly Cheesest...

Down with itchy feet. Mittwoch, 25. August 2010. I'm here, in Sothkorea, for two weeks now.so it's definately time to start my exchanging semester diary. The last days were crazy, spicy, hot, sweaty, too Sojuy, different, familiar, sticky, interesting, bodacious.too much to describe it. The next week was a roadtrip through the country. We've seen lots of Buddhas, Palaces, Temples, Chili plantages. We ate too much spicey korean food and slept in bathhouses and on ferrys. Diesen Post per E-Mail versenden.

Down with itchy feet. Mittwoch, 20. Oktober 2010. Now that it's halftime, our midterm exams start. Which means that there is no time for travelling or exploring the city. I spend most of the past days in this cute coffee shop that serves delicious bagel sandwiches, lots of coffee and has those comfy seats and relaxing quiet music.the best atmosphere to study. For distraction and as a guerdon for hours of studying we decided to have a pancake night. And I felt like a bird feeding its fledglings. There is ...
