Deborah Younger Martin: October 2012
http://dymartinembroidery.blogspot.com/2012_10_01_archive.html
Deborah Younger Martin - Embroidery. Wednesday, 31 October 2012. Well, we are half way through the term and I'm nowhere near to half way done! I'm not happy with the moon, I've had a day of every thread knotting and my bricking has gone awry. I've got a feeling I will be starting class tomorrow with a lot of unpicking, but I have faith that Tracy can get me back on the right track! Tuesday, 23 October 2012. Tuesday, 16 October 2012. A field and a practice moon. Thursday, 4 October 2012. I've spent a lot ...

Deborah Younger Martin - Embroidery. Tuesday, 23 July 2013. Ok, so it was finished ages ago but it's been sunny! Overall, I think I'm happy with it, but it's one of those pieces I think I'd like to do again, knowing what I know now. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Originally charting my progress on the Royal School of Needlework Certificate of Hand Embroidery, with Tracy Franklin in Durham, but now I'm working towards a City and Guilds in Design and Stitched Textiles. Tracy A Franklin - specialist embroiderer: December 2014
http://tracyafranklin.blogspot.com/2014_12_01_archive.html
Tuesday, 30 December 2014. Crathorne Bug - dots. Split stitch around the dot. Traditionally the needle is brought up through the previous stitch as it creates less bulk on the back of the work, but this scale is so small, it is possible to bring the needle up in front of the previous stitch and then take down through the stitch - up to you! Keep the split stitch small as it is such a small area. Satin stitch is worked out from the middle on both sides. Keep the tension firm. Cut away the remaining thread.

Deborah Younger Martin: November 2012
http://dymartinembroidery.blogspot.com/2012_11_01_archive.html
Deborah Younger Martin - Embroidery. Thursday, 29 November 2012. Church, sky and big black tree. Got lots worked out in class today. Tracy rescued the church, we came up with a plan for the big black tree and the remaining sky. I now have two weeks to get it all done. Monday, 26 November 2012. Apart from the bits I think need unpicking! I'm really not happy with the church, or the bricking under the big star. Going to leave them for now though, and get started on the big swirls in the sky. The last four ...

Deborah Younger Martin: January 2013
http://dymartinembroidery.blogspot.com/2013_01_01_archive.html
Deborah Younger Martin - Embroidery. Thursday, 17 January 2013. Tracy got me back on the right track today and now it's all done with just the mounting to do! I didn't think it would be finished today, so just some curved needle torture to look forward to and then it's on to the goldwork. Friday, 11 January 2013. Slow, slow progress. I'm getting nowhere fast! Thursday, 10 January 2013. Tuesday, 8 January 2013. I had a longer Christmas break than I planned and did nothing at all! Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

Deborah Younger Martin: May 2012
http://dymartinembroidery.blogspot.com/2012_05_01_archive.html
Deborah Younger Martin - Embroidery. Saturday, 26 May 2012. I spent a few hours with Tracy today putting the finishing touches to the artichoke. And here is the finished article! It's been hard work, but worth it I think. Thursday, 24 May 2012. This morning was taken up with tidying up edges and filling gaps so I got it off the frame after lunch. So it's still not quite finished, but not far to go now. Monday, 21 May 2012. Friday, 18 May 2012. Just two more leaves to go now! Thursday, 17 May 2012. I fini...

http://dymartinembroidery.blogspot.com/2013/05/a-long-overdue-update.html
Deborah Younger Martin - Embroidery. Tuesday, 14 May 2013. A long overdue update! I haven't posted an update for a while. Now my phone is fixed I can take photos again. I've done some more work on the half circles, although I still have concerns about the shape, and the jap in one twisted while I was plunging it. I'm leaving that for now to see if Tracy has some magic trick to fix it! Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). A long overdue update! View my complete profile. Exciting News: I Got Published!

La soffitta del tempo perduto: giugno 2013
http://lasoffittadeltempoperduto.blogspot.com/2013_06_01_archive.html
The attic of the lost time. MERCATINO - LITTLE MARKET. PUNTO CROCE - CROSS STITCH. When I sa...
