Baby steps | being there

Thoughts and insights about life in northern Canada. June 16, 2014. I remember when I was privileged to be the first prekindergarten teacher in the Chinook School Division (though it was Swift Current School Div. at that time) a lot of groundwork was laid, including meetings with the preschool and daycares to alleviate any fears or insecurities about how the existing programs would be affected. Thoughts and insights about life in northern Canada. Dreaming, Dancing, Being….here in Wrigley. December 9, 2013. These are reflections to give a sense of some of what I’m doing, wondering, experiencing….without infringing on the personal stories of others living here. We may be small, but we’re on the sidewalk map at Canada Place in Vancouver ( as shown by my daughter, Megan). DANCE LIKE A TREE. First Birthday | being there
https://kathrynannescott.wordpress.com/2013/11/21/first-birthday
Thoughts and insights about life in northern Canada. November 21, 2013. When I am 102, my granddaughter will turn 50 years old. Today she faces forwards to those fifty untouched years,. Dips her toe in a river flowing towards life’s unfolding,. Excited, curious, contented, afraid. I laugh to think of me living that long – to celebrate that day. Today I glance backwards on how I got to here from my first breath,. Bursting through the waters of life, with everything to learn. Shy, active, happy, unsure.

Thoughts and insights about life in northern Canada. It flows in one direction. April 5, 2014. Poetry seems to be my best way of sharing my emotional responses: joy, perplexity, frustration, ultimate hope as I live my new life in a small NWT community. How beautiful it is. How much I don’t know about the people and their lives. How I try to be myself, thinking that is all I have to give, trusting that is enough. (the ever-changing, learning, adapting me). Although I have not done that more than once.
