Friday, November 1, 2013. A Comeback, maybe. I've not blogged for quite a while. I think it's because I've been using Facebook a great deal and so much of the information/chatting that I used to blog is now on Facebook. However, there is a lot more space available for writing on a blog, so I"m going to see if I can get into that again. I can't seem to find the few photos I took of the Grand Canyon trip, but I did find these of my grandchildren holding their new cousin. November 3, 2013 at 7:09 AM.

Tuesday, February 18, 2014. In the living room, I have an amarilys (how is that work spelled? Starting to bloom. This plant was given to me a number of years ago and it faithfully blooms every winter. I put it outside for the summer, bring it inside in the fall, leave it alone for several months and then start watering it again. Voila! Sunday, June 17, 2012. This is my first time using Blogger's new format. I don't like it. I find it much harder to find my way around. Why do all these companies update with making things harder, rather than keeping things simple? Kate and I and various kids went to an historic home - Polesden Lacy. It's a beautiful home, although the decor is not to my taste. Lots of crystal chandeliers, gold framed mirrors and antique furniture. Rather overwhelming, but very impressive. This is one of the rock gardens.

Mixed Up Art

Saturday, January 7, 2017. Artist Collaboration Challenge: Iceland. I recently joined an artist collaboration challenge with the inspiration being the Northern Lights, or Aurora Borealis in Iceland. I recently started dabbling with encaustic, or wax, painting and thought that the nature of this medium would work well with this subject. I love how the wax swirls when heated, especially when color is added. I added splatters of yellow at the end and love what it did when heated. Aurora Borealis, Iceland.
