Family, crafts, fun, and the outdoors. Sunday, July 27, 2014. Equipment needed to darn socks. Cotton thread is needed, darning needles, light bulb to provide a hard surface in the sock to darn. And of course a scissors. I have decided to start darning socks. I learned when I was a child and thought, why not. I have been darning all my socks that have holes. I have a maple tree in the back yard, which is a good producer of sap and a maple tree in the front that tries. For a long time I wanted to learn how to can dry beans, such as white, pinto etc. Thanks to youtube I learned how. I was able to can about 30 pints of beans and have used them in a lot of soups and stews. One way to use up our Food Storage. Adding canned beans has been a yummy addition to our meals. One day we took the Palm Spring Aerial Tramway up to the top of Mount San Jacinto. It was amazingly steep, yet quite breathtaking. Everyone says he is "very cute" and "loves to eat.". The boys are very excited to have boy cousin! His big sister Nora is getting used to the idea of having a baby in the house! Tiffany, Robert, and the Boys. Saturday, September 12, 2009. Summer Fun: Holland Lake. We discovered Holland Lake this year. It's this beautiful lake with winding paths all around it. And, it's 5 minutes from our house! One Sunday evening, we ventured on a walk around it. There was way too much boy energy going on at my house! A sure fire hit with boys: throwing rocks in the water. This could have gone on for hours. I love Trevor's wind up in this one. We were duly impressed with the splash it made.

One of our favorite spots in San Diego is Coronado Island, a little stretch of land across the bay from downtown San Diego. We decided to spend the day there. We drove over the beautiful Coronado Bridge, took the ferry around the bay, ate lunch, rode 2 surrey bikes around the island, then went to the beach at Hotel Del Coronado. A perfect day! The Burgoyne clan on the ferry. Nora looked quite cute with her sunglasses.
