Updates on Kathy's fight against breast cancer. Diagnosis – My Story. Tomorrow I will wake up bright and early and check into the hospital for surgery #5, a diep flap breast reconstruction. It will take about 10 hours and I will be in the hospital for 3-5 days after the procedure. They will also remove the chest port that was used for my chemotherapy. It served me well when it was needed, but I am definitely ready to get rid of it now. This puts me one step closer to having all this behind me!
