Thursday, 19 May 2016. Same as it Ever Was. It is the same as it ever was. And I take comfort in that. The same flowers and plants are now re-emerging year after year. I've cut down on garden projects, and work so that I can just maintain what we have and enjoy it. And it still thrills me and relaxes me at the same time. The Acers have opened much more that this now, a week or so on since I snapped this. They joy on their faces when they scored a load of Dandelions was priceless. Watching where I step.

Monday, 13 July 2015. Deceptions of Pinterest: Chocolate Bowl Edition. A while ago, I had some time off of work and a bit more time on my hands to do those little things. Like showing off and making a chocolate bowl a la Pinterest that I had been wanting to do for a while. My melted chocolate was delicious, but it did not floweth over the balloon into elegant drips. I man-made some drips as best as I could. But when I deflated the balloon (after fridge cooling) with care, the drips broke off anyway.

Tuesday, 21 July 2015. I always like the idea of making elaborate cakes, decorated to perfection. But years of failure and laziness have reminded me that I just do not possess the skill or patience for cake decorating. I still like to pretend though, so when I saw the Doughnut Cake, I adapted the idea for an afternoon of pure pleasure. Again, playing with icing like this helps me to be calm and happy and therefore, I will class this pastime as my idea of Mindfullness. We enjoyed the tasting session.

Tuesday, 21 May 2013. It's all about scissors for my two 2yr old munchkins at the minute so today I thought we would try something a little different to the usual cutting bits of paper and make it a bit more sensory (and manageable for them) by adding scissors to coloured cooked spaghetti to snip at. Interestingly both of my scissor happy toddlers were initially reluctant to get stuck in, with one of them telling me 'urgh- it's wiggly worms!
