Katie and the Boys. A Mama and her adventures with 5 boys. Wednesday, December 31, 2014. This year we went to Shogun for a hibachi dinner with our neighbors. It was so much fun! And we were so glad that we were the PERFECT size for a table! Their girls had gone before but it was a first for our boys. I have always wanted to go but I knew it would probably be too hard when the kids were little (see, I do choose my battles! It went very smoothly and I went home the same day. I tend to shed a few tears when I'm stressed or overwhelmed so I was kind of a mess part of the time while we were waiting since things were delayed a little. Coffee, water, wine. repeat. Deck, trim and cabinets! In the past couple of weeks we have had some big updates! We now have a deck, trim, interior doors, hardwood floor and cabinets! There were two brothers who did our trim work and they were amazing. Their work is so seamless and smooth. And they moved fast - completed the whole house in about four days! Covered deck with a view. The mantle: just add stockings. The kitchen and hidden pantry. The corner cabinet has been left open for seeded glass.

Coffee, water, wine. repeat. Habitat ReStore is one of my favorite places for DIY home stuff. They recently posted on facebook that they had received a large donation of new carpet. We were able to pick out a couple rolls that looked pretty good together, and voila! The unfinished basement is now a cozy playroom for the kids. We also got some carpet squares for the steps. Is it summer yet? Monday, October 20, 2014. A Perfect Fall Weekend. It has been a very rainy fall, so we took advantage of some beautiful, perfect fall days this weekend. We started with an apple picking trip at Eckert's and then spent Sunday at the Pumpkin Patch! It is as if these blue skies were MADE for photo opportunities. Seriously, this field? We were leaving Eckert's and noticed this field of pink flowers. We decided to do a tiny bit of trespassing, and I am so glad we did! 10 cents a word.
