Life According to Me. Tuesday, June 17, 2014. Me and Scotty are getting married in 4 days! June 21, 2014! It's a special day in my family. It will be my grandma and grandpa's 51st anniversary and my brother's 24th birthday. I'm excited that me and Scotty will be able to share this day with some of the people I look up to in my life. KATIE BARNARD DU TOIT. Katie currently lives and works on a sheep farm in the Great Karoo in central South Africa. She spent her childhood on the Highveld and has had first-hand experience of the destruction that mining brought to her childhood environment. As an artist and curator she investigates the environmental, geographical, political and social aspects of capitalism and the impact it has on the fragile ecosystem of the Karoo.
