My blog if finally getting to where I want it to be, thanks to my amazing friend Leah Wilcox, who is obviously much more computer savvy. She did a great job creating this page, doing the background herself! I am lucky to have her as a friend, and also as a huge help on a lot of things like all this computer stuff, that I would otherwise not be able to do! Saturday, July 9, 2011. I cheated a little on the turtle cake; it's made of cupcakes from the Wilton Puzzle Cake kit. The Hungry Caterpillar cake is a combination of several I saw when looking for ways to incorporate the book into the cake. These were both for my son. Monday, May 14, 2012. This past weekend KatieCakes alongside Wake N' Bakery. Got to be guest judges at The Children's Culinary Institute's. Burnt" (their version of "chopped"). The kids got "mystery bags" each round with 3 items they had to use in a recipe. They also had some optional extras in their "pantries". From corn bread pancakes to bologna maple bacon, the experience was exciting and sometimes scary to say the least. We especially liked the graham cracker cake balls-genius! Monday, May 7, 2012.

After rooting through cupboards …we found some mini canvasses and made more adding more embellishments 🙂 and again more friend adding to requests so looking like a busy summer making…. Typical British weather ….means my week off hasn’t started but at least its half term and a week with the boy at home should be fun! Busy few weeks…. More cakes a per usual which is no hardship….
