Katie's Mariner Madness

Sunday, September 12, 2010. Two weeks from tonight on Sunday, September 26th, I will have just finished walking 60 miles in the fight against breast cancer. I can’t believe that it’s almost here! I don’t know how I’ll do, but I know that it will be an amazing journey. I have raised the required minimum donation thanks to many family and friends. I have logged many miles in the last month and a half and now I’m working on figuring out what to pack for my 3 Day journey. This is the view that we had and the...

Katie's Mariner Madness: January 2010

http://www.katiesmarinermadness.blogspot.com/2010_01_01_archive.html

Sunday, January 17, 2010. After exchanging some of my season tickets, I was able get some awesome seats for this game, I was in Row 3 just outside of 1st Base:. Being so close to the field on the Mariner dugout side, I got close to the M’s players warming up. It made for some interesting pictures. Jack Hannahan stretching:. Sean Kelley and his cute little backpack:. During the singing of the National Anthem, several of the guys had lined up along the base path:. FIreworks during the Anthem:.

Katie's Mariner Madness: July 2009

Sunday, July 26, 2009. Saludo a Beisbol latinoamericano! Salute to Latin American Baseball. I’m a little bit behind, so bear with me. On June 6th, Michelle joined me for a great game of baseball. We actually took my new Mariner up for its maiden voyage to its first Mariner game! The person who threw out the first pitch, was the Mariner’s greatest Latin American player, Edgar Martinez:. He threw the first pitch to Ken Griffey Jr:. Adrian Beltre batting (I love that the ball can be seen clearly):. With Jer...

Katie's Mariner Madness: April 2010

http://www.katiesmarinermadness.blogspot.com/2010_04_01_archive.html

Monday, April 26, 2010. Another Spring, Another Season! The Mariner’s 2010 season is upon us! I had to exchange some tickets too, so we ended up getting into our seats at 2:58 pm and the Pregame Ceremony was supposed to start at 3 pm. It ended up getting kicked off at 3:10 pm. A local band called “Death Cab for Cutie” started the show. I really hadn’t heard of them before, but Mike knew who they were:. Then the players were introduced as they ran down the red carpet from right field. Ichiro:. Rumor had i...

Life of Light: October 2008

http://kristinkoning.blogspot.com/2008_10_01_archive.html

Friday, October 31, 2008. Dry Creek Trail and Lake Cushman. My favorite part of the trip was hiking along the eastern edge of Lake Cushman in an area filled with very large old tree stumps. The trees were cut in the 1920's when the city of Tacoma built a dam on the North Fork Skokomish River, thus enlarging the lake. Here I am, pointing with humor and disbelief at the action that resulted in Matty looking like. Clearly, Matty (aka Spot) was in paradise and loving every minute of it! Doin a little P&W:.

Friday, June 26, 2009. Ape Cave and Bear Grass. Yesterday I had the privilege of hanging out with my long-time friend, Suzanne. We spent the day in the Mount St. Helens area, hiking the entire length of the 2 mile long Ape Cave. And checking out the St. Helens area. It was beautiful and full of wildflowers, and it was wonderful to catch up with Suzanne again! Suz told me to frolic among the wildflowers. So here I am, frolicking. ;). The flowers were prolific. And magnificent! Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

Life of Light: A Precious Sight

http://kristinkoning.blogspot.com/2010/10/precious-sight.html

Tuesday, October 12, 2010. I was on a plane today sitting next to a dear, elderly woman - probably in her 80's - who was flying to Seattle to visit some of her grandchildren. We talked for awhile of life and family and traveling and her embarrassment about getting to the point of needing to use a wheelchair. And then we noticed a small boy about 2 years old sitting 2 rows ahead of us. Awe, so precious! October 12, 2010 at 1:22 AM. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). BJ Melis and Abigail.

Life of Light: August 2009

http://kristinkoning.blogspot.com/2009_08_01_archive.html

Thursday, August 6, 2009. The pain and sorrow, the disappointment,. Expressed in my soul as i learned. The news of exorbitant exclusion. From that of which i yearned. Surprised, oh my heart, and hurt. But hurt and surprised be not. For such passions are of this world. From expectancies of haught. My being is fraught with avarice. With thoughts of deservedness. Yet the Lord, alone, merits all. To Him, may i ne'er give less. Rest, oh my soul, for this hurt be not for e'er:. My home, this world is not.

Life of Light: Wes' Story

http://kristinkoning.blogspot.com/2010/10/wes-story.html

Friday, October 1, 2010. We got up and moved to the outer ring of the gathering that was taking place under the Burnside Bridge, looking for people who seemed lonely or available. Suddenly a man approached Katelin and me, wearing 3 coats on a warm September evening and walking with a slight limp and a hooked cane. In a rough, accusatory voice, he dryly stated, “Let me guess. You guys are volunteers.”. 8220;Not a bus ticket,” I stated. Hesitantly, he shook my hand and said simply, “Wes.”. 8221; Perhaps he...

Friday, February 6, 2009. On Wednesday, the whole world was working. Well, everyone except me. And the forecast showed nothing but warmth and sunshine. Intuitions, writing, lifesteps. Asymp; 1 Comment. There is a product out there these days for diaper rash called “Butt Paste”. Our daughter,. Katie, was putting it on Avery her 16 month old daughter’s (our granddaughter’s) behind and saying, “Now the “Butt Paste”.
