Kim Blatter: Portraits
http://kimblatter.blogspot.com/2010/11/portraits.html
The art and beauty that shape me. Monday, December 6, 2010. Over Thanksgiving break my sister asked me to take some pictures of her family for Christmas cards. The next day my friend Katie asked me to photograph her for her landscape architecture portfolio. I decided to upload my favorites. As I was going through old pictures, I came across the photo shoot of Sydney from the beginning of this year. Enjoy! My niece Sydney getting ready for Christmas. These next two were taken with a medium-format Holga.

Kim Blatter: November 2009
http://kimblatter.blogspot.com/2009_11_01_archive.html
The art and beauty that shape me. Wednesday, November 25, 2009. Just What We Needed! This past weekend we went to Beijing! We are so lucky to be close enough to visit on a weekend trip! Where were the lugee-hawking 50-year-old woman and the smelly squatters? Rachel and I were picked up from the airport by her tour guide and went to the Marriot! And the tour guide said there are ten Coldstones in Beijing. Of course we had to go! Rach found one for us, and it was heavenly! The Chinese were so exact, it loo...

Kim Blatter: Beware of Trees
http://kimblatter.blogspot.com/2010/01/beware-of-trees.html
The art and beauty that shape me. Monday, January 25, 2010. I bought a season pass at Grand Targhee for $250! What a great deal! My friends, Nate, Tyler, Jessica, Brandon and I decided to go snowboarding last Saturday. It had been snowing all night in Rexburg, which means the mountains were getting some serious powder as well. I get a text every morning tell me how much snow Grand Targhee gets. I woke up on Saturday to a text that they received 16' of new snow! He was such a champ, and didn't complain ab...

Kim Blatter: September 2009
http://kimblatter.blogspot.com/2009_09_01_archive.html
The art and beauty that shape me. Thursday, September 10, 2009. Anyone who has the slightest desire to visit Beijing, I am whole-heartedly supportive! They have uggs, vans, north face jackets, real pearls and jade. tiffany's jewelery. does anyone have requests? For dinner we went to Hard Rock Cafe! Then at the end, we zip-lined across this really pretty river. We got back to the hostel, got our bags and had 2 hours to find a taxi and get to the train station. BUT! I can't wait to explore more of China!

Kim Blatter: October 2009
http://kimblatter.blogspot.com/2009_10_01_archive.html
The art and beauty that shape me. Monday, October 12, 2009. We checked into our hostel and walked around town. We love night markets. We are becoming so savvy at bargaining prices down. If their first offer is, say, 100 Yuan, which is about $14, I will say, “50 Yuan” and they will say “Oh no! 8221; and I say, “Ok, well I can get that price down there…” and start walking away. Then they will say, “Ok! Then we floated the Li River. The mountains were beautiful! We met some boys from Washington in our hoste...

Kim Blatter: I Believe...
http://kimblatter.blogspot.com/2010/12/i-believe.html
The art and beauty that shape me. Monday, December 6, 2010. I had to create an "I Believe" statement and write a paper for my English class. I wrote about one student I taught in China whose story I continually think about. 8220;I Believe… that Love Can Mend a Broken Heart”. 8220;Hello.”. 8220;Hyelooo” said the class. 8220;My name is teacher Kim”. 8230;Silence with confused faces. Okay… where do I begin? 8221; “Monday! 8221; “Good girl.” “Tyler, what is your favorite animal? 8221; “Tiger! 8221; “No!
