Sunday, May 18, 2014. Mother's Day 2014 (and a little mix of other days). Oh blog - you have been so neglected lately. While I long to blog more regularly (for the handful of people that might read this), I am also enjoying being wrapped up in the busyness of life. Our days are full right now, but life is good! For dinner, I voted for ordering pizza (Parker's favorite) and John made homemade brownies. Yum! Here is Parker and I the last two years on Mother's Day. This past weekend, we spent a lot of time ...

Thursday, November 6, 2014. Between our Fall Festival at church, Halloween night and a neighbor's birthday party - we had a fun-filled few days of celebrating last week. I tried narrowing down all the pictures we took to a few of my favorites and still ended up with about 60 between the three events. I promise you'll enjoy them all though (at least I did! Let's take a quick look back at Parker's first two Halloween costumes. The cutest Charlie Brown and Linus that you ever did see. Beware of the SHARK!

Tuesday, August 26, 2014. Brought To You By The Letter P. As I started looking through our recent pictures that I wanted to share, I noticed a theme - the letter "P". I love a good alliteration so here's to the 16th letter of the alphabet. I made this fun sign for the door a few weeks ago. And of course we have to show the playful boy playing in his playroom. Now you know what the sign on the door is for - lots of memory making! And he will go pick out 2-3 animals to ride with us. PARKER IS 2 1/2! On Aug...

Friday, April 10, 2015. Egg-celent Weekend EASTER 2015. We had such a fun Easter weekend this year. Parker was running a fever the day or two before Easter, so I was a little unsure if we would be able to enjoy all of our plans, but he woke up Saturday morning with no fever and feeling like himself - hooray! A neighbor a few houses down from us put together a little Easter egg hunt in their front yard at 11am Saturday. Parker was really excited about it. I'm so thankful he felt better and the wea...Satur...

The Ussery Update: January 2015

Thursday, January 29, 2015. Loads of Fun Our Laundry Room. We have lived in our house for about 10 months now and overall we are pretty settled. However, being the project person that I am (insert my sweet husband's patience here).I have a list of things I still want to do regarding the house. When we moved in, I made a room by room list as well as one for outside projects. We have made a lot of progress and crossed a lot off, but more yet to do. It doesn't help that I keep adding to the list. I made thi...

The Ussery Update: December 2014
http://theusseryupdate.blogspot.com/2014_12_01_archive.html
Tuesday, December 30, 2014. This year, for the first time, we started the "Elf on the Shelf" tradition. We had so much fun with it! Our elf, who Parker named "Jolly", arrived the day after Thanksgiving and left Christmas night. I will repeat some of what I said in my last post (see below). One day, when Parker is older, he will come to learn and know that "Santa" and "Jolly" aren't real or magical . But you are only little once and we want to share what we experienced as children with him. I snapped a pi...

The Ussery Update: October 2014

Wednesday, October 22, 2014. Scenes from my phone. Living a full life and being on the go quite a bit - not to mention keeping up with an energetic 2 1/2 year old means I don't always have our "real" camera at the ready. I thought I'd share a few pictures I have taken with my phone over the last few weeks. (If you follow me on Instagram, you have already seen several of these). Ready or not, here we go. Have I mentioned we have a new pet? Haha - Parker wishes! Our items in. He had a big time! This isn't ...

The Ussery Update: June 2015
http://theusseryupdate.blogspot.com/2015_06_01_archive.html
Wednesday, June 24, 2015. If you know me much at all, you know that one of my favorite things to do is cook and bake. I've always loved being in the kitchen preparing yummy food and tasty treats. When we found out we were pregnant with Parker, I was already dreaming of the fun he and I would have in the kitchen. From a very young age, younger than the ripe ol' age of 3, Parker has been my little sidekick in the kitchen - my own personal sous chef! Learning to crack eggs when we made a birthday cake.

Friday, June 27, 2014. Festive for the Fourth. One of my favorite domestic activities is decorating for all of the holidays. Our decorations aren't fancy or expensive, but they are fun and help welcome in the coming holiday. It helps the house feel festive for what we are celebrating. Between selling our house last summer and having a new house built (and living in Arkansas for 6 months), I haven't been able to do any holiday decorating in a year - GASP! Thanks for stopping by! I guess the next time I wi...

The Ussery Update: Vacation Bible School 2015
http://theusseryupdate.blogspot.com/2015/07/vacation-bible-school-2015.html
Wednesday, July 1, 2015. Vacation Bible School 2015. The third week of June was Vacation Bible School at our church. I helped last year, but Parker was unable to come because of just starting therapy for his SPD. Headed to church to start off the week. My 2nd grade class was full of 19 kids and 17 of them were boys. I will let you do the math to figure out how many girls there were. Yeah that's right.wow - they were an energetic bunch. I was beat by the end of the week. Over 3 feet tall - oh my! Parker a...
