First Monday of the month. On the first Monday of every month there’s a blackboard concert for those who’d like to perform alone at The Talisman Tavern. Main Road, Katikati Mondays at 6:30pm bring your instrument or voice. These sessions are very relaxed and great fun. There are snacks and meals available, including pizzas, and alcohol, soft drinks and coffee. Roll up to the Talisman and join us performers or those just wanting to sing along! Songs of the Murals. Friday 2nd October 7:30pm. The Katikati Open-Air Art project is a community based initiative designed to celebrate the unique identity and heritage of Katikati and the surrounding area through murals that highlight our history, culture and environment. The murals add vitality to the town and are a drawcard for tourists. There are prizes of $150 for the best song and a $50 runner-up prize. Come along for a night of creativity and fun and biscuits and lashings of hot tea at half-time.
