First college loan payment. First blue pixie illustration? Yes, despite my mounting years and wisdom (hah! I still have many fun "firsts" to enjoy. This couple recently celebrated an anniversary and she contracted me to create this portrait. And, of course, we had to include their sweet french terrier, as he is one of the family!

Jan 31, 2015. A couple of weeks ago, Hubby-Todd and I went ice fishing with his family. It was a nice "warm" day, which was nice. I usually chicken out of going because I really hate being cold. Seriously. It makes me miserable and just feel yucky all over ( why do I live in Michigan? Because I love my family more. I've been feeling the botanical lately. not that I have many around me to inspire this sudden interest, but the extreme (and extended) cold really makes me long for my favorites: Peonies! I didn't notice much of a difference when I switched to Prismacolor colored pencils about 6 years ago, but when I borrow a crayola from one of my students to give an example?
