Teapot Musings: A second flash fiction challenge
http://teapotmusings.blogspot.com/2015/06/a-second-flash-fiction-challenge.html
Random ideas, musings and mutterings that seem to come from nowhere, as I sit drinking my tea. Must be something in my teapot. Monday, June 29, 2015. A second flash fiction challenge. Somebody that I used to Know. 8220;Thanks, Charlie.”. I tossed the nickel and three pennies that the clerk had given me as my change into the dish labeled ‘take one, leave one’, grabbed the paper bag holding a couple of turkey sandwiches, some chips and two bottles of water, and walked out into the sunshine. 8220;Look, I to...

Teapot Musings: September 2014
http://teapotmusings.blogspot.com/2014_09_01_archive.html
Random ideas, musings and mutterings that seem to come from nowhere, as I sit drinking my tea. Must be something in my teapot. Tuesday, September 23, 2014. The value of an opinion. It might be absolutely horrible, breathtakingly beautiful, or anything in between. And frankly, it wouldn't be any different if your tone-deaf neighbor hated your singing. By definition, if you are seeking someone's opinion, the issue is subjective. I don't need your opinion to know whether I'm taller than my sister, I jus...

Mid-Life Meandering: October 2012
http://idahocat.blogspot.com/2012_10_01_archive.html
Bits and pieces of whatever I feel like sharing. Friday, October 26, 2012. The older I get, the less patience I have at certain times. Seems like when the issue is insignificant, I tend to lose my patience more quickly. Usually it's only apparent to me, or at least I try to keep it to myself. So mostly I find myself annoyed when I'm driving. Like today. I stopped for gas at one of our local stores. As I pulled back into the parking lot on my way to the street, the car ahead of me stopped. A s...I'm used ...

Teapot Musings: April 2014
http://teapotmusings.blogspot.com/2014_04_01_archive.html
Random ideas, musings and mutterings that seem to come from nowhere, as I sit drinking my tea. Must be something in my teapot. Friday, April 11, 2014. I just flew in.". Nope I didn't go anywhere. I'm referring to that old joke. I just flew in from (somewhere far away), and boy are my arms tired.". So now you're probably thinking - 'what made Laurie think of that old joke, especially if she didn't go anywhere? The more I read about these frigatebirds, the more interested I became. There are a few. Ive alw...

Teapot Musings: Location, location, location
http://teapotmusings.blogspot.com/2015/07/location-location-location.html
Random ideas, musings and mutterings that seem to come from nowhere, as I sit drinking my tea. Must be something in my teapot. Wednesday, July 22, 2015. Location, location, location. I like my house, including it's location, but when I think of 'location location location', I think of eating dinner on the boat. I've often said that being on the boat makes even a stale peanut butter sandwich taste like a wonderful gourmet meal. And that's when things are ordinary. Find that hard to believe? I can feel the...

Mid-Life Meandering: Mushrooms, Anyone?
http://idahocat.blogspot.com/2015/06/mushrooms-anyone.html
Bits and pieces of whatever I feel like sharing. Sunday, June 14, 2015. A mushroom goes into a bar and sits down to order a drink. The bartender walks over and says, ' I'm sorry sir, but we don't serve your kind here.'. The mushroom sits back and asks ,' Why not? I'm a fun guy! Actually the mushroom wasn’t a fungi, he was a fungus. If he was one in a crowd of mushrooms then they would all be fungi. Scientific names confuse me. And they ruin my jokes too. What if I breathe in the spores? Could it kill me?

Mid-Life Meandering: July 2013
http://idahocat.blogspot.com/2013_07_01_archive.html
Bits and pieces of whatever I feel like sharing. Tuesday, July 2, 2013. Record temperatures all week, here in the southern part of Idaho where I live. Yesterday it hit 110 degrees. That's hot. Right now, at 7:00pm, it's 104. That's also hot. I spent time outside, weeding the flowerbeds. Why I couldn't wait for double digit temperatures is beyond me. That weather brings out happy birds chirping. It was so blooming hot that even the hornets gave up and crawled back wherever they came from. I can't go back ...

Mid-Life Meandering: March 2013
http://idahocat.blogspot.com/2013_03_01_archive.html
Bits and pieces of whatever I feel like sharing. Friday, March 1, 2013. Once in awhile I would love to travel back in time to when I was a baby – not to stay for very long— but just to revisit what it was like to be swaddled in a cozy towel after a nice, warm bath. To be held by someone who loves me and promises always to keep me safe and warm. So what made me stop everything and do a little daydreaming about this? Don't we all need this? Human touch and unconditional love deeper than the ocean? Knowing ...
