Ten Days Faithful: Concerning James 2:24
http://tendaysfaithful.blogspot.com/2006/11/concerning-james-224.html
Do not fear what you are about to suffer. Behold, the devil is about to cast some of you into prison, so that you will be tested, and you will have tribulation for ten days. Be faithful until death, and I will give you the crown of life. - Revelation 2:10. November 19, 2006. I was always confused about James 2:24. Then I read the following. It's out of the Book of Concord. The Lutheran Confessions. I think that it is the best explanation of this verse that I have ever heard! When he says that we have bee...

Who is this irresistible creature who has an insatiable love for the dead? Gifts for Holiday Cheer! Okaydo you have a little problem of not being able to find that gift for the perfect someone this Christmas or New Year? Well, I think I've found the answer to this little problem, in one website. I wish I had thought about it before Christmas, but sadly, I just remembered it now.so it's to late for me to buy anything. But, who knows, I might keep it in mind for next year ;-). The website is Despair, Inc.

Who is this irresistible creature who has an insatiable love for the dead? Slightly Morbid Thoughts. c):-p. Okaydon't know why I'm writing this, but for some reason I thought of it, and I have nothing better to write at the moment. Maybe it was the inspiration of all those turkeys that are killed for this one day of the year, but more than likely it was my own strange and crazy thoughts that brought up this subject. You're probably wondering, "What the heck is this girl going on about? Life is such a tri...

Who is this irresistible creature who has an insatiable love for the dead? It’s that time againwhen we eat candy, go on Easter egg hunts, and most importantly, go to church and celebrate our risen Lord. But, it seems like in this time of the year many Christians glance over one of the most important parts of these springtime festivities. How many of you actually even considered the importance of this past Friday? Y people, we believe we receive our forgiveness of sins through Jesus rising from the grave.

Peaks and Valleys. ~ Wit & Whim
http://witandwhim.blogspot.com/2010/04/peaks-and-valleys.html
Wednesday, April 7, 2010. Today started in a valley that I like to call "waking up." It is a very tiresome place to be; for it is very hard to see anything and there always seems to be a cat under your feet. Things get ugly after that. I then spent what tiny time I had left standing under the rain to try and reduce the building heat and blood-pressure that comes from being stood up yet again. I need to work with these people, but how am I to smile at those who blow me off without a word, especially when ...

June 2014 ~ Wit & Whim

Monday, June 23, 2014. Things Have Happened. And Stuff. There once was an old house on the side of Harrison Hill- which is not really a hill- and in that house there lived a boy, who was actually more of a man than a boy. He lived in this house with his two brothers, his mother, and on certain special occasions, like weekends and holidays, with his father. They all lived there happily on the edge of the Thousand Acre Hood. I will not pretend that I have mastered maturity and the art of living well, but no...

http://witandwhim.blogspot.com/2013_11_01_archive.html
Thursday, November 28, 2013. I just turned in my first late paper. Ever. It is not that I could not have had it done earlier. It is not that I did not have sufficient time, or that there was anything particularly unfair or difficult about the assignment. It is not that the entire universe is so interested in my failure that the fates themselves conspired against me. Oddly enough, neither was it laziness. I have certainly kept myself busy semester. What, then, was it? What is the point? I still enjoy the ...

New Year's Post. ~ Wit & Whim
http://witandwhim.blogspot.com/2011/12/new-years-post.html
Sunday, January 1, 2012. Ladies and Gentlemen, if you missed it, I feel that it is my solemn duty to alert you to the new year that has overtaken us. Time for the encouraging pep talk! This is a time of great excitement and potential, and there can be no doubt that we will correct all of the things that we did wrong last year, just like we do every year. Our paltry efforts will be thwarted- by ourselves- and the cycle will continue. That which has been is what will be,. And here, at the end of a year of ...
