Reading Books and Raising a Shepherd: February 2010
http://jwmacon.blogspot.com/2010_02_01_archive.html
Reading Books and Raising a Shepherd. Friday, February 19, 2010. As I thought, Macroscope. Was terrific. I'd never heard of Anthony Piers before and was surprised to see that he's fairly well known in the fantasy genre. When I read science fiction and come across mistakes in grammar, punctuation, etc. that might be an obvious mistake in a non-sci fi novel, I convince myself that it's deliberate. This printing of Macroscope. I read The Husband. By Dean Koontz. I just love the way this guy writes!

Reading Books and Raising a Shepherd. Friday, December 16, 2011. Harry Turtledove is known as "The Master of Alternate History" - a category of science fiction I love - so I was excited to see one of his books in a used bookstore a few months ago. Reading Books and Raising a Shepherd: May 2010
http://jwmacon.blogspot.com/2010_05_01_archive.html
Reading Books and Raising a Shepherd. Saturday, May 1, 2010. So I just finished reading Breaking Dawn. Today - I stretched it out over the last week while I was on vacation so I could enjoy it longer. Totally worth it! I loved that Bella is stronger and more sure of herself in this last book of Stephenie Meyer's teen vampire saga. I think this was my favorite of the series; definitely liked it better than the middle two. I'm interested to see how the last movie turns out! Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

I took a break from reading novels after those two books. About a month ago, I found The Lost Symbol. It has the same character as Angels and Demons. And The Da Vinci Code.

The Haney Family: April 2009
http://candchaney.blogspot.com/2009_04_01_archive.html
Thursday, April 30, 2009. Beach and park time in the sun! I showed Vin how to fill the pot . and he caught on quickly, only he didn't seem to notice that he was siting in the water. He completely soaked himself. I'm gonna get you ducky! Vin was not at all afraid of the water today. I thought he was going to just keep on going until he caught one of the ducks (who were pretty fearless themselves). Climbing up the stairs all by himself. Fearless. Links to this post. Tuesday, May 11, 2010. We went to the annual Yurasko Kentucky Derby party about a week ago! You'll know we're at that party because of the above photo of William with the traditional mint juleps. We have been trying to get this photo, of Mark and Amara with Christopher and Alexandra for the longest time. Here it is - yeay! Here's Alexandra giving baby Amara and hug and a kiss. She is so sweet with babies! Alexandra and I relaxing on our patio after the party! I really like this having a "mini-me" thing :).

Friday, October 30, 2009. We have a Toddler! Alexandra started walking on her own at 15 months, but has recently (at 16 months) started to perfect it. Now, she likes to try to walk everywhere! Here she is walking with Grandee. . . . And with her daddy. . . . And with her mommy! And yes, as I explained to her cousins last weekend, she can also walk by herself (but it's definitely cuter for photos if she's holding someone's hand! I'm so proud of my little girl! She's talking and now walking! In September, ...

Reading Books and Raising a Shepherd. Friday, March 5, 2010. Fetch in a Field. With the leash removed and nobody around for several hundred feet, we release him from the formal walk beside us by saying "okay" and he bounces up and down waiting for that ball to come out of our pocket. Indy leaping up to catch the ball. Indy waiting for the ball to fly. Tuesday, March 2, 2010. Three Books, Three Genres. I read The Street Lawyer. After Grisham's book I read Ender's Game.
