They can't send him home because the seizure meds are effecting his respiratory status. He is stable, and his O2 saturation is great even on his usual 1/4Liters O2. However, Friday morning his blood gas was 80. That's pretty high. It means he's not expelling his CO2. Also he's acidotic. They had to put him on a high flow cannula at 8Liters! Even in high school, when everyone else dreaded reading Hamlet. And Romeo and Juliet. I relished in it. There was something so rich and enduring about the words, the stories, and the people. The bus was full and we were carrying our heavy load - backpack and computer. The grandfather could not speak English nor his grandson. Richard took their picture (he often does this!
