In the madness there was love. I have a little Lady – 2 months. Adelaide is two months old now. 10 lbs 4 oz. 22 1/2 in long. I don’t know if emotionally I’ve really moved on from the hopeless feelings I’ve had in the recent past – maybe they’ve evolved into a different sort of hopelessness. I’m working on it. In the madness there was love. Adelaide is a whopping 12 lbs 8 oz now. Almost double her birth weight! Every day she’s more interesting than she was before. Her vocabulary is developing rapidly with plenty of “ooooOOoOhs” and “AaauuGhs” and sqweees and giggles. I’m really curious about how baby speech really develops, because if I didn’t know better, I’d think she was being raised by whales. She’s wonderful and I am undeserving of her great love. Shouldn’t my hormones have returned to normal by now?

In the madness there was love. 36 weeks 4 days. Some days I wake up and forget that I’m pregnant. Sometimes I’m walking through a store and it’s like it hits me for the first time. The shock is always new. I think in 18 years, the idea that I had a baby. That I have a child. That I am a mother, will still have a fresh sting when I think on it. In the madness there was love. While I have found pregnancy to be a largely unpleasant experience, it has provided me with a constant reminder of how blessed I am. Today, I had a “Baby Couture” party where guests decorated onesies for my Lady to wear one day (soon). It was a long day, to say the least but it was so refreshing to be surrounded by my friends and family and to see that she how much she is already loved. Thats where I am, right now. In the madness there was love. It’s been a long time. Wow It’s been almost a year since I last posted. Every time I feel the urge to write, something distracts me or I feel like I’m saying everything I’ve already said before. But I need it. I plan on getting back to regular writing along with me other “creative” outlets very soon.
