Zoltán Kodály (1882-1967) was a Hungarian composer who revolutionised music education. In a nutshell he believed that the only way to truly learn and embrace music is through the instrument that nature gives us for free: the voice. While we can read books on music theory and learn to read, write and play music, it is through vocalisation that music is most rapidly internalised, promoting deep understanding of musical concepts. Degrees and is a fully qualified teacher. She has a vast range of teaching experience involving both whole class teaching and one-to-one tuition. Her experience is mainly in adult education and she currently holds positions at Morley College. Selena began her musical career as a composer, gaining a scholarship to study at the Royal Conservatory of The Hague (Netherlands) with Louis Andriessen. And co-developed the SmartBeat. Programme which uses rhythm to support literacy and dyslexia.
