Kayaking and Camping on the Rock Islands of Palau. I was surprised at how park like the Rock Islands were. Except for the places close to Koror (Lee Marvin Beach and Ancient Village) all the beaches that tourists are allowed on have substantial shelters as well as real toilets (with ample toilet paper). They are well maintained by the rangers. Ngchus Beach here and above. Ngchus Beach rest rooms. Cooking area at Ngemelis, I camped but did not kayak there. Huge sleeping area at Ngemelis. 9 Food and Water.

Kayaking and Camping on the Rock Islands of Palau. The budget hotel choices available looked quite dreary until I discovered the Palau Marine Club. They are affiliated with Antelope Divers but I am not a diver. The bathrooms are shared and the rooms are a three floor walk-up. (You can see my room in the top photo, it's at the very top in the middle.). This is the view that I had as dawn was breaking on my first morning in Palau. Tourist activity in the Rock Islands is restricted to certain areas. (Don't worry, from what I saw all the nicest beaches were for tourist use.) The tourist areas have shelters and rest rooms. At Planet Blue I discussed where I wanted to go based on my research and they offered feedback as to whether I would be able to go there (no to "Exile Island" because it is part of the no entry 70 Islands Wildlife Preserve, dangerous surf near another beach that I was interested in, etc.) They suggested the wonderful Ngchus location and the not wonderful at all Lee Marvin beach. Unfortunately, the roads are still narrow and drivers are not as good as you might expect. Information about camping on Kayangel Atoll, Republic of Palau. What I would do is sleep without a tent, laying my Thermarest mattress on one of the benches. As the area around the shelter is cleared out I would expect it not too be too buggy and just light some mozzie coils, apply bug repellent and use a top sheet. One can also safely pitch a tent without the rain fly. As you can see there is plenty of space to spread your stuff out on. There is a cooking area and a toilet (clean, no stinky smell).

Thursday, February 26, 2015. Breitachklamm - wąwóz niedaleko Oberstdorf. Ciekawe miejsce do odwiedzenia a w połączeniu z Oberstdorfem - wycieczka na cały dzień. Zimowa sceneria dodała jeszcze większego uroku temu miejscu. Wszędzie ogromne sople i rzeczka płynąca w tym wąwozie. Wstęp do wąwozu jest płatny i kosztuje 4e od osoby, parking również jest płatny i kosztuje 2e od samochodu osobowego. Można udać się na spacer i wrócić tą samą trasą lub wspiąć się troszkę wyżej i wrócić powyżej - nad wąwozem.
