In the spring of 2012 I had the opportunity to learn how to carve a totem pole with Jay Haavik. I ended up carving my own 11 foot totem pole, and this is the story of that pole. The summer of 2005 I will be Kayaking the Inside Passage of British Columbia, Canada on a Solo trip from Seattle, Washington to Ketchikan, Alaska. The trip should take about two months, staring on July 16 and ending September 16.

The Weather Gods smile upon me today. For my last day of paddling they give me a day of sunshine and light winds. They had played with me by serving me up 20 days of rain and wind and I guess they were happy on how I stayed the course. The trip ends at the Prince Rupert Rowing and Yacht Club at 6:47 pm. Did I learn anything?
