Kayak adventures from Puget Sound (formerly a travel blog about Peru). Sunday, September 23, 2007. We had a couple of days in Lima, of which I was sick for one. I figure I had to be ill one laast time in South America. On our final day we walked around until 8:00pm and finlly headed over to the airport for the long journy home. Our route home was first to Newark, then Newark to Seattle. It took a long time but it feels great to be home. Thanks for the comments and for reading this. Final Day in the Andes.

The trail wasn´t that steep so my natural instinct was to climb at a normal hiking pace. But after a minute or so of that you had to slow down and catch your breath. The better approach was a slow steady pace. The descent took all day, and with the added annoyance of leap froggin with the french on dusty windy trail...

Despite being well on the map and at the heart of the "gringo trail" it was really enjoyable.
