I am supposed to be getting up out of bed in 7 hours to begin cooking for kids and grand-kids. Why am I not sleeping? I enjoy being around kids, especially elementary school age and younger, because they haven’t lost the wonder of Santa yet. They still believe reindeer fly, they still simply believe. Last night my Cub Scouts opened the ceremony with the flag ceremony. I was so proud of all of my Scouts that attended last night that as I am recalling this now I have tears in my eyes. The news out of New York State and the incident with Tony Stewart. The news out of Los Angeles with the passing of Robin Williams due to depression and also the passing of screen goddess Lauren Bacall. The shooting of a teenager in Missouri. It’s all distressing to someone who does suffer from bipolar and has had depressive episodes. July 25, 2014.
