Tuesday, November 18, 2014. Burbot Under the Ice. Oren's latest kick is dinosaurs and looking for fossils. I had to laugh when he struck the gold mine of "fossil" finding. He was playing outside the other day and came banging on the door saying, "Dad come check out all my fossils! While Michigan got blasted with snow, we got rained on and all our snow melted. Back to driving the Honda again. Saturday, November 1, 2014. Ice Skating on Nuvruuqpaaq. Like a Fish Tank. Oren was fired up to get furs.

Sunday, October 5, 2014. It was really warm right when we got back to Noatak this year. I went swimming 4 or 5 times. Even Kayla went swimming one day. The water was COLD! I took my camera and took some pictures underwater. I sure wish I would have had my goggles and snorkel (even though you can't keep your head under water for very long anyway.) Thursday, August 29, 2013. Anybody Recognize this White Stuff? Yep, it snowed today. Looks like we have a couple of inches right now. I double checked the calendar to see if it was still August. It is. Wednesday, August 21, 2013. I figured we would make a fire at the mouth of Katchourak Creek, but the river was still too high to make a fire anywhere near there. We ended up going just a little ways further down to a long gravel beach scattered with willows. And "Bears go roar! Thursday, August 8, 2013.

Monday, July 29, 2013. Oren and His Goggles. We made it back to Noatak safe and sound. The salmon are just starting their annual push up the river. Brenden is flying in in the AM tomorrow. We should make it out quite a bit for fishing this next week. It doesn't look like the weather is going to want to cooperate, cloudy and breezy for most of the week. Sunday, September 9, 2012. Utah Trip Day 8. We woke up early Sunday morning to start the hike up Mount Sneffels. It was pretty cold when we started, but it didn't take long to warm up! Its hard to see in this picture but on the far right next to the lake someone set up a tent and camped. What an awesome campsite! We had to do a lot of rock scrambling. Almost to the top. Sunday, March 24, 2013. Dead Horse Point State Park. Saturday was cold and snow/rain off and on all day. Typical Michael hanging out on the ledge. At the Schafer Trail overlook in Canyonlands.couldn't see very far since it was snowing. Heading into Arches Nat'l Park Saturday evening, it was starting to clear up and the sky looked pretty cool! We hiked to Corona Arch Sunday morning. One of the restaurants in town has a picture of a plane flying through this arch.that is one daring pilot!
