Alaska to Africa to... Adventures!: My Grass is Greener!

Alaska to Africa to. Adventures! Living a Dream Wherever We Are! My Grass is Greener! The work I did do, however, did amount to quite a bit. I was the one who took the hard rake and cleared most of the debris, then the soft rake to smooth it all down before spreading the Buffalo Seed and raking it all in again. I was exceedingly tired of raking that day. Fast forward to today and you can see what a month of timely rain on sandy soil will do for Buffalo seeds! I am beyond happy! Pat suggested we choose Bu...

Alaska to Africa to. Adventures! Living a Dream Wherever We Are! Pat had met most of the team, but until now I had not. Would they like me? Yep, I'm a little insecure. I also wondered how well they had gotten to know Pat! We made sure to show our true selves, made even easier by the fact that we had a serious hit of allergies. We just didn't feel the energy to fake anything, not that we do that sort of thing anyway! Respectfully ask to borrow and repost pictures that others took! Those girls weren't afra...

The Best Life: Grand Turk
http://janabest.blogspot.com/2011/11/grand-turk.html
Monday was our first port stop, Grand Turk in Turks and Caicos Islands. We arrived at port around 7:30 am and I was up early excited to watch us approach land. I went to the gym where I knew I would have a nice view from the front of the ship. Then I made it back to the room to watch the docking process from our balcony. I was amazed to see how smooth and quietly we "landed.". It is amazing how giant the cruise ships are.and ours was a "small one". Our ship in the background. Was it uncomfortably humid?

A few weeks ago Josh came home from work and casually handed me a copy of the Pacific Coast Business Times, a weekly business journal serving Ventura. Santa Barbara and San Luis Obispo. Anniversary of the award. Many of the award's. Alumni have gone on to accomplish great success (or at least notoriety). One such alum is California's Lt. Governor Abel Maldonado. And. Josh was chosen as one of this year's "40-under-40" award winners! Partner). I quickly realized this was a MUCH bigger deal than Josh h...

The "NO TV" challenge. Lately I have been sick of the way our television watching is affecting our lives. I am not the most disciplined person in the world so it is hard to keep it to a minimum sometimes. Not only is it tempting to let my watching take over, but it's also tempting to let Kaylee watch more than she should so that she is "busy" or out of my hair! Relationships, pride for the way I kept up with house work and thankfulness that I felt rested in the mornings instead of grumpy and irritable!

Alaska to Africa to. Adventures! Living a Dream Wherever We Are! Last Days and Long Drives. Before we headed off on our way out of Alaska, we had to fit in one last trip on the Kenai River! We went out with Ed O'Connor with Advantage Angling (nice plug, eh? And we had a great time! The river was brisk in the wee hours of the morning, but we fought our way to our 3 Silver Salmon. This is the scene I had for most of the trip:. We decided to add our next stage onto the "sign" and hope we see it again someday.

Alaska to Africa to... Adventures!: Our Big News!!!!

Alaska to Africa to. Adventures! Living a Dream Wherever We Are! Just kidding. We have no big news, I just felt like jumping on the bandwagon of several members of my family lately! I did feel like I could share more about what has been going on (mostly just with me, not Pat! Today I legitimately began my new job. Again? I have little to no interruptions, I don't have to make small talk over and over again, and I get to mark off my to-do list! You knew I was an introvert, right? Now, don't get the idea t...

Alaska to Africa to. Adventures! Living a Dream Wherever We Are! The packing up is in full swing. We have officially begun to load up our trailers. One trailer has a full load, one layer high, of totes. The enclosed trailer now has the loveseat (one of our most precious possessions! It's leather, so it's our luxury item! Pat's gotten his welders loaded and secured. It is fascinating to see all of our blessings in possessions as we load up tools and machines. We are getting things done, though there seems...
