Hot Bacon Appetizers (50). 1/2 lb bacon, cooked and crumbled. 2 tsp caraway seeds. 3/4 C shredded American cheese. 50 Melba toast rounds. 1/4 C butter, softened. Peanut Butter Pie (Ice Box). 1/2 C peanut butter, smooth. 8 oz cream cheese, softened. 9 oz Cool Whip Topping. 1 C powdered sugar. 9” cracker crumb crust. Soften cream cheese, cream until fluffy. Beat in peanut butter and sugar. Slowly add milk. Mix well. Fold in topping; mix real good and put into crust. Cover, and put in freezer or refrigerator. You put your peanut butter in my pie. Pastry for bottom and lattice top. Arrange apple slices in a lightly greased 9x9x2” baking dish. Combine sugar, flour, cinnamon, nutmeg and salt. Sprinkle over apples, and bake at 400 °. Basic Pound Cake and Half-A-Pound Cake. 1 C butter or Crisco. 2 C sifted flour. 1 tsp lemon juice. 1 tsp grated lemon rind. 1/2 C butter or margarine. 1-1/2 C cake flour. 1/4 tsp baking powder. Follow directions for Basic Pound Cake. Pour batter into greased and floured 9x5x3” loaf pan. Bake 325 °. For 1 hr or until done. Pound for pound, this is good pound cake.
