Timmerman studied art in Italy, New York, Seattle, Maine and Phoenix. Her background includes curatorial positions at the Everson Museum of Art in Syracuse, New York, the Scottsdale Center for the Arts, the Phoenix Art Museum and the Herberger Theater Center Steele Gallery.
