The Byrd's Nest. The official blog of center fielder Marlon Byrd. 2/25 This is a part of me. NOTE: This offseason, Marlon Byrd added a new tattoo on his right arm. It’s an excerpt from Theodore Roosevelt’s “Citizenship in a Republic” speech, delivered at the Sorbonne in Paris on April 23, 1910. Here’s the excerpt and below that, Marlon’s first post for 2012:. Posted on February 25, 2012 at 2:50 pm. On February 25, 2012 3:08 pm. On February 25, 2012 5:53 pm. As TR would have said, “Bully! My husband and I...

The Byrd's Nest. The official blog of center fielder Marlon Byrd. 4/2 There’s nothing like being a Cub. I told those guys, being in Chicago, on and off the field, there’s nothing like it. Posted on April 2, 2012 at 6:20 pm. Good to hear from you again! Can you believe it? That other coach never checked to see if he was ok despite the fact that she was on the field and close to the action. The girl that kicked him never apologized. These kinds of things make me mad, Marlon. Really mad. The...Yes) went to ...

http://marlonbyrd.mlblogs.com/2011/11/21/1121-giving-thanks
The Byrd's Nest. The official blog of center fielder Marlon Byrd. Here, Marlon talks about his experience with compartment syndrome. At Thanksgiving, it’s the perfect time of year to give thanks — to family, to doctors, and to pro ballplayers who take time to inspire fans. It’s supposed to be career-ending. I believed in me. I was never, “Why did this happen to me? 8221; That never happened. It was one of those things — wow, this happened, now I have to deal with it, so what do I do? I hope Marlon Byrd e...

Bean's Brew House
http://beansbrewhouse.blogspot.com/2013/10/panel-is-complete-well-almost.html
Friday, October 4, 2013. Well, almost.) All wiring is finished and has been tested. The only thing now is to add a little bit of silicone to some of the joints to keep it waterproof. The picture looks the same as the previous post but the amp meter is now reading the amperage going through. I only had one element hooked up so its showing 22.1 amps. If I run both it will show the total 44 amps. Another note, only the boil PID is showing temp. I didn't bother to bring out all the temp probes while.

Logos Brewing: Vinnie's Pliny
http://logosbrewing.blogspot.com/2012/11/vinnies-pliny.html
Postings about brews and the Logos. Monday, November 19, 2012. I've brewed Pliny the Elder several times now, each slightly different. This one is also different. However, this is the official recipe given out by Vinnie at Russian River for Pliny. He's awesome, he gives out the recipe to one of the best commercially made beers in the world. What other breweries do that? Buttwiper sure doesn't, and their beer is crap. So here is what you have been waiting for. 55 gallons (so you end up with 5). If you enj...

Adventures of a Matkovich: September 2010
http://kyalamode.blogspot.com/2010_09_01_archive.html
Thursday, September 30, 2010. To add to yesternight's post, I forgot to mention. Not Edgefield, but another vineyard. Wine is just part of the Oregon culture. Another time, Scott and I (pre-marriage perhaps.I honestly don't remember) ended up in this little shed where they serve fine spirits and everyone smokes cigars. Want to know another secret? Edgefield makes an amazing Syrah. Yum. 'Course, I am a sucker for a good red vino. What can I say? Add a glass of wine and that is damn near perfection. Which,...

Adventures of a Matkovich: October 2010
http://kyalamode.blogspot.com/2010_10_01_archive.html
Sunday, October 31, 2010. Actually, it's Poudre, but that's how you pronounce it. (Ok. I admit. I'm completely immature. It makes me laugh. Why? Because it has "poo" in it.). I was made for wide open spaces. The pictures were taken with my cell phone, and don't do the landscape any justice. Still not bad, eh? Posted by Kyra Matkovich. Wednesday, October 27, 2010. Wine trumps ice cream. What I miss in ice cream, I'm making up for in wine. Yum. Not a bad trade. Welp That's all I got tonight. I clap my hand...
