Wednesday, November 25, 2009. This afternoon we went to the library. Once we were there we could have free time (because we can't take out books while Mrs Pannell is stock-taking) so Claudia was reading a story out loud to Shardae, Hinemaia, Jungwon and Josephine. It was called Pinocchio. We know it is the end of term, so people are tired, plus it is about 24-26 degrees outside - so it is boiling and stuffy.but did Hinemaia and Shardae really have to go to sleep? Tuesday, December 15, 2009. This morning I brought my bunny to school. He is called Spotty. I got spotty on Sunday. I found out that he was born on September 15th. Thursday, July 23, 2009. Today I wanted to be the statue of liberty. So I made a torch out of paper and pretended to be it. My class thought I was pretty funny! I know that the statue of liberty is in New York which is in America and it was a present from France. The statue is a lady holding a book in one arm and a torch in the other arm. She is wearing a crown. I think the crown looks like spiked up hair. Here's a joke for you. Why does the statue of liberty stand in New York? Because it can't sit down!

This was the process each group followed:. 1 Brainstorm different ways to keep safe on their way to school. 2 Choose one of the ways to keep safe. 3 Decide who their characters will be. 4 Plan a beginning, middle and ending for their story. 6 Re-read their storyboard, change, add or delete. Thursday, May 14, 2009. Year 5 and 6 camp 2009. Camp was awesome. It was at Hanmer Springs. We slept in tents for one of the nights and in cabins for the other two nights. Our favourite things were tree climbing and going to the hot pools. For tree climbing we got clipped onto a harness and we climbed really tall trees. We played spotlight at night time with our torches. We went for a long bush walk to the waterfalls. It was hard work but in the end it paid off because we saw a HUGE waterfall. I came sec...

Wednesday, November 18, 2009. We decided that our lettuces need to be in a hot house so that they can grow a little faster for us. We designed it ourselves. We needed to make sure that our hot house was durable in all conditions and could open/close for us to water etc. Here are our designs. In the end we chose Keighlah's design because it looked like it would be durable and easy to make. Here is her design. Here is our finished product. Grow, lettuces, grow!
