Keep Calm & DIY

Friday, May 10, 2013. Easy Furniture Revamp - Cedar Chest. That this bench needed a makeover, and set about it's transformation. Here it is in all of it's glory. :) It's sitting just inside our patio doors, and the sun has faded it badly. One of our dogs thought (during the puppy phase) that this corner looked like a good chew toy. The upholstery was pretty shot, and out of date anyway. Then, using my husband's staple gun, I fastened the ends in place. Now for the corners. You can really fold them ov...

Keep Calm & DIY: Faux Wrought Iron Toilet Paper Roll Art

http://keepcalmanddoityourself.blogspot.com/2012/10/faux-wrought-iron-toilet-paper-roll-art.html

Thursday, October 4, 2012. Faux Wrought Iron Toilet Paper Roll Art. A couple years back I came across. If you'd like to try this project I'd recommend starting with at least one of her patterns to get the hang of it. :) Looking at a picture and guessing how she did it wasn't that easy. :). Square wooden dowels. I bought mine at Hobby Lobby for around $0.80 each. I bought 1/4" dowels, so I cut my cardboard strips 1/4" wide. Use the long, paper towel roll strips for the longer, framing pieces in your design.

Keep Calm & DIY: Liquid Lip Gloss

http://keepcalmanddoityourself.blogspot.com/2012/11/liquid-lip-gloss.html

Monday, November 12, 2012. As I mentioned in my non-petroleum "petroleum" jelly post. I've been wanting to try my own lip gloss, but without using vaseline. I couldn't really find a recipe for what I had in mind, so I experimented and came up with my own lip gloss recipe. :) Since I made this up as I went along, it's not very exact.but hopefully it will give you some inspiration as you make your OWN lip gloss! Approx. 1 tablespoon non-petroleum "petroleum" jelly (click here. I was going for a very pale p...

Friday, November 2, 2012. Homemade Deodorant that WORKS! I adjusted the recipe slightly, but the original recipe is as follows:. 3 tablespoons arrowroot powder. 3 tablespoons baking soda. 35 tablespoons coconut oil. 15 tablespoons beeswax (either grated flakes, or pellets/pastilles). 12 drops tea tree oil. 10-12 drops any other essential oil or oils you prefer (optional.only add up to another 10-12 drops combined). 3 drops castor oil (optional.just helps it glide on better). 3 tablespoons arrowroot powder.

Keep Calm & DIY: October 2012

Sunday, October 21, 2012. Nourishing Sweet Almond Oil Lotion. Here's another of my anti-dry-winter-skin experiments. :) I got the recipe from my sister-in-law and added some fun scents to make it my own. 1/2 cup sweet almond oil, or else 1/4 cup sweet almond oil and 1/4 cup grape seed oil. After I took the picture I decided to use half sweet almond oil and half grape seed oil, so that's why the grape seed oil isn't in the picture. Either way works well). 1/4 cup coconut oil. Let sit and harden. Once it's...

Serving the Lord Together: Christmas 2

http://servingthelordtogether.blogspot.com/2015/03/christmas-2.html

Serving the Lord Together. Friday, March 6, 2015. More of Christmas morning at home - everyone was very willing to help Daddy open his presents. Mommy helping Aaron Joseph -. Such a sweet smile :). We stopped by all the grandparents that evening - this is a favorite nutcracker at Gm. O. In the midst of the Christmas pictures we have Aaron's 1st birthday! It was almost nap time, so he just kind of stared at the cake and candle. Esther and Anna and Landon at the R. house -. The boys with their houses!

Serving the Lord Together. Wednesday, April 10, 2013. Since you can never see enough wedding pictures, I thought I'd share a few of my favorites.Aaron was so nice and let Anna and I fly to Ben and Emily's wedding even though he couldn't make it - I had an absolutely wonderful time! Amos, Ben, Rachel, Reuben - my cousins are some of my best friends ever! Rebekah and her boys - they were so quiet during the wedding :). Rachel did an amazing job arranging most of the flowers! Emily and her dad -.

Serving the Lord Together: January 2015

http://servingthelordtogether.blogspot.com/2015_01_01_archive.html

Serving the Lord Together. Friday, January 23, 2015. Silas and Karen's Wedding. We moved into our "church home" a few days before the wedding, but first, a new door had to be put in the girls' room to meet fire codes. I didn't get very many good pictures of rehearsal, but here you can see Esther standing in front of Auntie Priscilla. Mom (with my sisters' and her sisters' help) had a very beautiful and delicious groom's supper. Hosanna, Anna, me holding Aaron Joseph, and Esther. Silas waving goodbye -.

http://servingthelordtogether.blogspot.com/2013_12_01_archive.html

Serving the Lord Together. Friday, December 27, 2013. I'll post more later, but here's a few pictures of our new little boy :). He was born on December 26, 2013 - missing Christmas day by 3 minutes! He weighed 7 pounds, 2 ounces and was 19 and 3/4 inches long. He has blond hair and is very beautiful :). The girls came to see him yesterday and were pretty excited to have a baby of our own! Anna has socks on her hand to imitate her cousin Daniel who is only a couple weeks old.Esther thought he was heavy.

Serving the Lord Together. Sunday, June 23, 2013. Catching Up - 4 of 4. The rest of these are just pictures from different times over the last couple months - This is my 26th birthday - the roses are a gift from Aaron. We had revival meetings at our church this spring and the evangelist's wife did a few things for the children - Esther loved the ventriloquist doll :). Anna and Esther in Uncle Josh's truck -. Serving the Lord Together: July 2014

http://servingthelordtogether.blogspot.com/2014_07_01_archive.html

Serving the Lord Together. Saturday, July 5, 2014. Strawberry Rhubarb coffee cake - I've never done a lot with rhubarb, but some friends gave us a bunch of plants, so I hope to learn some really wonderful things to do with it :) After all, it grows around here, is easy to care for, is plentiful, and easy to harvest - what more could I ask from a fruit? This sweet little boy fell asleep in his high chair. His little fingers and toes :). Two pelicans down by the lake -. 6 months old on June 26th! Of course...

Serving the Lord Together: October 2014

http://servingthelordtogether.blogspot.com/2014_10_01_archive.html

Serving the Lord Together. Wednesday, October 8, 2014. Last October Update - September. I selected these pictures out of order, but I think they're all from the last month. All those things on the ground, other than the leaves, are tomatoes.ours didn't do exceptionally last year, so this year we planted extra and got more than we needed :) I have a feeling we're going to be eating a lot of chili and spaghetti this winter! Esther and Anna in the corn box at the corn maze. And beg Grandpa for a pony ride :).

Serving the Lord Together: December 2012

http://servingthelordtogether.blogspot.com/2012_12_01_archive.html

Serving the Lord Together. Sunday, December 2, 2012. We were at a meeting earlier this month that was held at a very large church - they had some really neat decorations in the children's area - including this "Pet Store". Esther checking out the "worm" and Anna chewing on Mommy's purse. Anna's been taking a few steps! We've also started feeding her a little solid food - she's not too sure about that rice cereal stuff! The tree is much prettier in person than in this picture - we think it's beautiful!

Serving the Lord Together. Wednesday, March 27, 2013. Cowgirls (4 of 4). You may want to scroll down to the first post and read these backwards! I don't remember when this was taken, but it was one of the beautiful mornings we have down here. Aunt Rebekah thought the girls would enjoy matching their "cowboy" cousins - which they do! This picture is actually from the beginning of January.Hope you all have a wonderful Easter! Birthday Cake (3 of 4). Aaron helping Anna figure out how to open a gift -. These...

Serving the Lord Together: June 2014

http://servingthelordtogether.blogspot.com/2014_06_01_archive.html

Serving the Lord Together. Saturday, June 21, 2014. Some of the ladies in church did a candy hunt for the children -. I forgot baskets, so Esther and Anna borrowed some. Finding it is the fun part, but then Mommy takes the candy away and rations it! Aaron Joseph wasn't sure what to think of the grass and sunlight. Esther and Anna play together so well -. Silly Anna - she's just figuring out to smile for cameras. That's probably all I'll get done today, but they'll be lots more later :). Anna - her hair j...

Keep calm and do not scratch!

14 sierpnia, 2015. Lush i już" albo inne kulawe rymy.
