We visited Alinya's future kindergarten today for the first time, met her teacher and even did a pre-lim crafting project. Her future classmates were there too and it was good to get a look at them as well as their parents. It is a wonderful setting to learn to love learning, and her teacher is the kindergarten teacher of parents' dreams.

Thursday, November 10, 2011. Today started at 6:45 AM. No ones fault but my own. Elliott woke half an hour later with a smile on her face! We enjoyed a nice shower, bananas for breakfast and I worked on hand sewing the new cushion cover for my rocking chair (I'll have pictures for that in some other post.). Thursday, April 26, 2012. 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour. 1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, chilled and cut into small pieces. 1 large egg, lightly beaten. 3/4 cup packed light-brown sugar. 1/4 cup light corn syrup. 1/4 cup heavy cream. 8 ounces (about 2 cups) pecans. 1/2 cup (1 stick) chilled unsalted butter, cut into small pieces. Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Line a 9-inch square baking pan with foil. Prick bottom of dough; bake until lightly golden, 22 to 25 minutes. Let cool while preparing filling.
