Keeping the Home

Keeping the home - or attempting to - as a Gen X Mom of four and wife to one. This blog is on keeping the children & dh happy, keeping the house, keeping God in first place, keeping the chickens & the bunnies, keeping homeschool & more. I'm not the person who is ahead of you in motherhood knowledge. I'm just the gal right beside you, pushing the stroller, dragging the preschooler, and hollering at other kids while wishing they'd grow up and wishing they'd stay little, all in one

Keeping the Home: Who Is With Me? Declutter Your House in 21 Days

http://keepingthehome.blogspot.com/2006/01/who-is-with-me-declutter-your-house-in.html

Monday, January 16, 2006. Who Is With Me? Declutter Your House in 21 Days. I know we all have the excuse of the recent holidays, oh, and since today is Martin Luther King's Day, we also have the excuse of a current holiday.but, whew! Is your house in as much need for a holiday break as mine is? Our problem, I can see clearly by the stack of boxes in my bedroom as I type, is CLUTTER. I think it was FlyLady who said, "If you have too much laundry to do, you have too many clothes! Are you in this with me?

Thursday, January 19, 2006. DAY THREE Decluttering Challenge: Children's Bedrooms. Honestly, I'd rather skip the focus of today - the Children's Rooms! Tim and I were blessed greatly with one little one who cleans spectacularly and organizes her room daily. . And then we have boys.two that don't want to pick up and don't seem to be able to organize. I have them do daily chores, but they just don't see the messes! Or so they say. Read her entry for today and let me know what you think! DAY FIVE Declutteri...

Keeping the Home: In the Spirit of Giving...

http://keepingthehome.blogspot.com/2005/12/in-spirit-of-giving.html

Wednesday, December 07, 2005. In the Spirit of Giving. In the spirit of giving this Christmas, consider going to Freecycle.org. And finding a group in your area. Freecycle groups are people in your area who want to give away and receive free items from each other. Our family has given away clothing, toys and shoes mostly. And we have received a basketball goal and a pile of rough-cut lumber. Posted by Lori Seaborg. Nancy in AL said. We started freecycling in Huntsville about a month ago. We have gift...

Mommy Lessons: October 2008

http://mommylessons.blogspot.com/2008_10_01_archive.html

There was an error in this gadget. Saturday, October 25, 2008. Jonas is almost 3 months old now. As a new mommy, I've learned MANY things. One of these I learned when pregnant: THINGS WILL NOT ALWAYS GO YOUR WAY. I thought I'd never get heartburn, I did. Oh, and it felt so bad. I didn't like it. and I also stopped drinking orange juice thinking this may have been the cause. And I cried. And cried. One day on my last month I wake up and see some marks on my belly. OMG! So I couldn't be checked again becau...

There was an error in this gadget. Friday, September 3, 2010. My pregnancy with Mya. Was not that comfortable… compared to my first pregnancy. I went to my friends’ wedding and I thought I’d be able to ‘dance all night’ like I did with my first… but, no.  I was so uncomfortable and crampy, I couldn’t dance much at all. My water did not brake first this time around.  I felt like a new mom, asking people ‘how does it feel when you’re in labor? The doc said this is why women keep having children :). I kept ...

There was an error in this gadget. Monday, November 15, 2010. Mommy- what’s your schedule like? God’s will for me…. I KNOW that Scripture says our purpose is to glorify God with my life. I believe I glorify God in my life through my obedience to His words. His words are… umm… a lot! But when asked what the most important commandment was, Jesus said that loving God. Was first and the second was loving our neighbors. I love God by obeying Him and loving others. Around me right now I have very needy people&...
