Keeping up the Chase. A family's journey though type 1 diabetes filled with love, laughter and most importantly, hope. "Be watchful, stand firm in your faith, be courageous, be strong. Let all that you do be done in love.". Tuesday, November 05, 2013. Okay, so I do try to remain positive. Really. What other option do I have? Eight years ago, my mom framed an article from a doctor who stated that diabetes would be cured in 10 years. Although the article is fading, I still think of it everyday. It ...

Keeping up the Chase. A family's journey though type 1 diabetes filled with love, laughter and most importantly, hope. "Be watchful, stand firm in your faith, be courageous, be strong. Let all that you do be done in love.". Friday, November 14, 2014. Today is world diabetes day - kind of like every day for us, though. Then I think of Chase's hands - hands that have been poked approximately 16,425 times. Head down and sad eyes he says, "Okay.". The old saying, "This hurts me more than it hurts you" is the...

Michele's Mundane Musings: July 2010

http://michelesmundanemusings.blogspot.com/2010_07_01_archive.html

Dancer, mom, music fan. Thursday, July 15. Vacation with the Radcliffes. I was so glad for the opportunity to visit Rachel and her family again this year. I met up with them in the White Mountain region of Arizona, AKA Fishing Heaven. Darius proudly brought home a string of beauties, which made a yummy supper. My visit happened to coincide with the World Cup final, which we took in at a local watering hole. It was an exciting game. Espana! It was so fun and relaxing to hang with them. Mwa!

Michele's Mundane Musings: 100 Years of Scouting

http://michelesmundanemusings.blogspot.com/2010/06/100-years-of-scouting.html

Dancer, mom, music fan. Saturday, June 19. 100 Years of Scouting. 2010 is the 100th anniversary of Boy Scouts, and the Northern Lights Council hosted a huge Centennial Celebration campout at the North Dakota state capitol grounds. It was the first time anyone was allowed to camp on the capitol grounds. There were around 3000 Scouts and adults there, which was about twice what they were expecting! Brad took this photo of the Cub Scout tent area from the top of the capitol building. View my complete profile.

Michele's Mundane Musings: June 2009

http://michelesmundanemusings.blogspot.com/2009_06_01_archive.html

Dancer, mom, music fan. Tuesday, June 30. My parents took us camping at Sibley this weekend. It was very hot and humid, but still fun. That is, until the storms arrived the second night and chased us home. We bugged out just in time to hear the tornado sirens wailing as we raced home up Washington. Here are some pics from the first night. Thanks for a fun time, Mom and Dad! Links to this post. Monday, June 29. Kaleidoscope is Tuesday and Wednesday, and you are invited. The Chorus Line looks dy-no-mite!

Dancer, mom, music fan. Thursday, July 23. When Dylan got invited to a birthday party there, it was our first time at Raging Rivers Water Park. It happened to be the hottest day of the summer so far, and the place was packed, but we still had a fun time. I'm sure we'll be back. Links to this post. Wednesday, July 22. Links to this post. Michele's Mundane Musings: March 2010

http://michelesmundanemusings.blogspot.com/2010_03_01_archive.html

Dancer, mom, music fan. Friday, March 26. On FX is my new favorite TV show. The show is based on novels by Elmore Leonard. Timothy Olyphant plays US Marshal Raylan Givens. Givens is cut from the same cloth as Olyphant's Deadwood character, Seth Bullock, but I like this character even more. He is almost like an Old West lawman plucked from the 19th century and deposited in modern day rural Kentucky. Links to this post. Thursday, March 11. Trailer was released today. Ooooo! Dancer, mom, music fan. Thursday, June 17. Harry Potter Wizarding World, Trip of a Lifetime - Part 4: Hard Rock Hotel. This is the front desk. The minute we walked through the front doors, I knew we were in the right place. I like loud music, and it was ever present here. I felt energized and really cool just being there. The play list varied according to the time of day, day of the week, and even the weather. All the songs were about rain the day it was storming. This was us at the fountain out front wa...

Michele's Mundane Musings: October 2009

http://michelesmundanemusings.blogspot.com/2009_10_01_archive.html

Dancer, mom, music fan. Saturday, October 31. I've been a sewing fiend lately, getting ready for Halloween. I enjoy sewing costumes because the stakes are low - they don't need to be perfect or very durable. They turned out great, and the boys loved them. Here are this year's jack-o-lanterns. (Connor, Dylan, mine, Brad) This was the first year that Dylan carved his own pumpkin, and he managed to keep all his fingers intact. I love carving pumpkins! Links to this post. http://michelesmundanemusings.blogspot.com/2009_11_01_archive.html

Dancer, mom, music fan. Sunday, November 29. James McAvoy's next movie comes out January 15. Actually, he's a supporting actor in a very talented cast: Christopher Plummer, Helen Mirren, Paul Giamatti, and McAvoy's wife, Anne Marie Duff. The movie is about Leo Tolstoy and has gotten very good reviews. Another movie to look forward to! Links to this post. Wednesday, November 25. Not your father's Sherlock Holmes. Opens Christmas Day. http://michelesmundanemusings.blogspot.com/2009_12_01_archive.html

Dancer, mom, music fan. Wednesday, December 30. Dylan has an annual EEG to monitor his epilepsy. His brain needs to be tired, so we have to keep him up all night. This year, we told Connor he could stay up, too. He made it until the end of my shift at 4 am. Here is Dylan hooked up to the machine right before his test. Links to this post. Sunday, December 27. One of our holiday traditions: making and decorating sugar cookies. This is not a stuffed. It really is a 5 pound chocolate bar. Lucky girl!

Keeping up with the Roberts

Keeping up with the Roberts. Tuesday, November 4, 2008. Brynna was a beautiful Cleopatra. Thanks to M for making the awesome costume for her. Thanks to E for taking her trick-or-treating, so I could be handing out treats at my house. Brynna tried to take pictures of me, but we had to hurry to school. I think she may need some more practice. Here is my scarry vampire pose. I have another picture to add, but I don't have it at home. Thursday, October 30, 2008. Okay, I learned a while ago, but Brynna learn.

Keeping Up The Day. The musings of a vegan, pagan, arts and crafty first time mum living in rural Somerset. June 2, 2011. 8212; Keeping Up The Day @ 11:13 pm. I stretched some watercolour paper today. It’s the first time I have done this in ages. It made me happy. For me, the act of stretching watercolour paper is almost ritualistic. You can keep your pre-stretched. There is something quite wonderful about stretching it yourself. Don’t ask me what though. May 5, 2011. 8212; Keeping Up The Day @ 8:35 am.

Keeping up the Memories

Keeping up the Memories. Friday, April 3, 2009. This was one of my fav pages. It is of me and my little sister Laurie. This was also my first time in Utah. We had loads of fun. Here are some older pages I did of Leo. There was a debate at the time about flowers being used on boy pages. This was my compromise. I used Flowers but in boy tones. This was c collection I am very proud of. These are done in blues, blacks, and greens. I also thought it was ok to use beads and iridescent color pigments.
