Scribblings for the Selective Masses. Thursday, May 14, 2009. Poetry] In the Rain. It is so empty -. The city in the spring rains. And I feel alone. Although the city I live in is very busy usually, when it rains, it goes relatively quiet - which is nice. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Bradley in China!: October 2008
http://bradleyinchina.blogspot.com/2008_10_01_archive.html
I traveled to China for a year to teach. Here are my most exciting stories! Sunday, October 26, 2008. I'm getting too old for this.". Another incredibly busy week here in China. This time, the business was the product of one event and one event only. Although I only have a few pictures, I plan to hunt down more; it was a lot of fun but a ton of work, so I need lots of proof it happened! In our classroom, we made a huge time line. Then, for our performance, our class acted out the play Peter and the Wolf&...

I'm not sure why I didn't write this earlier. so, in an effort to make it seem intentional, we'll call it an Epilogue. How do you wrap-up a year of your life in a different country? Scribblings for the Selective Masses. Saturday, January 31, 2009. Original - Poetry] Sing Hey! For the Kitchen Minions. For the Kitchen Minions. And for those with the nameless moniker). Here’s a little song, to the unknown workers,. Bent-backed, hands a blur, whirling round'n'round. In a hot as hellfire place. Here’s a little song, ho! Forth, nameless slave! Who never sees the light of day, stoking the bonfires. Of toasters and microwaves. Yes, those victims of disgruntlement and greed. Many-wintered, t...

Scribblings for the Selective Masses: [Personal] Moving, Meeting and Munching
http://scarecrowslady.blogspot.com/2009/05/personal-moving-meeting-and-munching.html
Scribblings for the Selective Masses. Thursday, May 14, 2009. Personal] Moving, Meeting and Munching. This is my new apartment bedroom. It is very spacious - and delightfully well lit. After a long time spent in a gloomy apartment with little to no lighting, it will be nice to have a window seat! This picture is taken from the door. Just to the left, right inside the door is another door, leading to my own private bathroom! I am so excited to move! My friend Soleil took me to a hot pot - which was awesome.

Scribblings for the Selective Masses: February 2009
http://scarecrowslady.blogspot.com/2009_02_01_archive.html
Scribblings for the Selective Masses. Thursday, February 12, 2009. Vacation Epic: Part 4 - Bali and the Cuisine. The best part about the whole vacation was the food. Really. Although I didn't eat much the first couple of days (thanks to having such a bad sore throat that I couldn't swallow much without feeling incredibly pained), I was more than happy to chow down when the days of healing dawned on me. Balinese food I DID not eat. Egg and noodles and stuff.). For sure, there was a McDonalds down the road...

Scribblings for the Selective Masses: Heroism
http://scarecrowslady.blogspot.com/2013/04/heroism-what-is-bamf.html
Scribblings for the Selective Masses. Monday, April 15, 2013. Recently, I've been writing a fanfic for Avengers - and thanks to a very thoughtful reviewer, I'm considering the aspects of heroism and its connection to humility, submission, choice and other similar things. What is a hero? Is this so impossible? And something we should question everyday. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Skipping blithely around China Enjoying food and culture and life in general. Scribblings for the Selective Masses: June 2013
http://scarecrowslady.blogspot.com/2013_06_01_archive.html
Scribblings for the Selective Masses. Saturday, June 1, 2013. Star Trek Into Darkness: Compassion and Justice. I just came away from watching Star Trek Into Darkness. Going into the movie theatre, I was expecting something 'meh', something not worth writing about – and yet. and yet, here I am. Writing about it. When is it time to show compassion – and is there ever a time to withhold it? Who deserves what – and who decides who deserves what? And thereby forcing Kirk and his crew to make decisions that co...

http://scarecrowslady.blogspot.com/2009_03_01_archive.html
Scribblings for the Selective Masses. Monday, March 30, 2009. Personal] Life In Small Detail. Tyger, tyger burning bright. With man, for man, playing on a ball. Do you tolerate us, I wonder? Or not at all? My three students - 2 Korean and 1 Canadian - are the same - all boys, all crazy, all human - and in this rain storm, all wet! And all have fun together. People may ask me what I see in them - my bright and crazy students. And they will be the movers and shakers of our futures. Friday, March 20, 2009.
