Wednesday, 22 June 2016. Report Writing Term Two. K5 kids have been learning how to write a report this term. We know it needs to include true facts about a topic. We have written letters to one of the crayons who want to quit in order to convince them to stay! With our buddy class, we made crayon hats to go with our stories. Keeping up with K5. Monday, 29 August 2016. Today K5 looked at the water cycle. First we practiced the water cycle song and made up actions to go with it. Then K5 had to make their own water cycles on a paper plate. We had to label all the parts of the of the water cycle and add arrows to show which way it goes. Keeping up with K5. Tuesday, 20 September 2016. In writing, K5 has been learning to write character descriptions. We know we have to: describe what they looks like, their actions, and what makes them special. K5 wrote a character description about their monster who went missing! We made missing posters so people could help us find them. Come and read our descriptions outside K5. You might be able to help us. K5 has spent the last two weeks exploring Fractions. We know that fractions are a part of a whole.

Keeping up with K5. Monday, 25 July 2016. I tipu mai te mauri. I tipu mai te mauri. Ki te ao Marama,. Tales with a Difference Show. Today K5 went to a show called Tales with a Difference. Mona told us a story about her brother who stuck a piece of silver paper up his nose. It was so funny! After that story, some of the kids got to help out with the new story. Lucas from K5 got to help! Thenlots more children got to join in. Ask us at home what the we heard stories were about! We played some warm up games.
