http://misskoisty.blogspot.com/2010_04_01_archive.html
Tuesday, 27 April 2010. Having been distracted by the group project, the editing for my individual project is somewhat on hold. Luckily I have completed all the filming (though may take this weekend as opportunity to get some little extras) and have all the animation bits ready to edit together. What do you think? Group Project: Reassessing Our Approach. Up to this point we had edited the interview footage from just one tape and were finding it impossible to match up the cut down clips with this new tape...

Saturday, 27 February 2010. We were split into groups and took it in turns to interview and be interviewed, we would then have to edit them. We used a Z1 and a Rifle mic. Rachel and I were on screen for one group. We then swapped over and filmed them. It was a one to one interview in which we used a two shot and over the shoulder shots. We also took time to film a few noddies. City Of God Sound edit. In this exercise we were asked to look at a clip from the film 'City Of God', if you click here. Which is...

Kirsty's Media Blog: December 2010
http://misskoisty.blogspot.com/2010_12_01_archive.html
Saturday, 18 December 2010. Without some form of commentary (be it in form of narration of captions) it's hard for viewers to connect with the film. With documentaries it is better to use a voice over as it does not detract from the image on the screen, if people are trying to read captions they will miss what is being said/shown on the rest of the screen. A voice over should compliment the picture and fit with the images on screen. When should I write/think about the V/O? The most important think to con...

Monday, 31 January 2011. Before Christmas, myself, Mike and Ant were involved in some filming at the Bath Royal Literary and Scientific Institution. As part of the Illuminate Bath Festival. We filmed the whole play which totaled being over 2 hours long, however this is the 'trailer' for it, as edited by Ant:. What do you think? Saturday, 29 January 2011. Friday, 29 January 2010. In todays session we have been using Celtx in order to deconstruct a scene. This is aiming to help us know how to construct a scene when it comes to making our group projects for 4003. To do this we used the car chase scene from 1968 film Bullitt. Starring Steve McQueen. The scene is different from modern day car chase scene in that the shots tend to be longer, the longest one of which is around 18 seconds long. What do you think? Friday, 22 January 2010. We are staring work on o...

Tuesday, 20 July 2010. Spartacus Festival: The Edit. It's been a while since posting on here because of term ending, but there is one more thing to update! As mentioned before Mike and myself helped out Nathan in the 2nd year doing some filming. Mike has been working on the edit for a few weeks now and this is what he has come up with:. It feels really good to have my name on something that involves a professional musician and is also a credit to the musical talent at the uni! What do you think?

Tuesday, 1 June 2010. Spartacus Fest: Get Cape Wear Cape Fly. Last night was the Spartacus Festival at Komedia. Featuring 3 student bands and headlined by Get Cape Wear Cape Fly. It was the first time I had been to the venue and when we arrived the venue was a lot bigger than I imagined! We had four camera's between us and they were positioned one either side of the stage, one at the back on the upper level by the bar, one handheld and one fixed to the balcony upstairs for a garunteed wide shot.
