こんにちは、古川日出男さんとの平家物語対談を終えて、さらに深く、古典と現代文学とアダプテーションの関係性に惹かれるようになった波戸岡です。 波戸岡研では、2018年6月下旬から7月中旬の予定で、明治大学生田図書館のGallery ZEROにて、薩摩琵琶によるアダプテーションの展示を企画しています。 平家物語のリサーチ中に知り合うことのできた、薩摩琵琶奏者・川嶋信子さんは、「琵琶で語るシェイクスピア」など、日本の伝統音楽によるアダプテーションを意欲的に実践されている方で、最近では、寺山修司原作の舞台『身毒丸』にも出演されている気鋭の琵琶奏者です。 来年度のギャラリー展示では、この川嶋さんの世界観をお借りして、文学の新たなアダプテーションの可能性を探っていきたいと思います。 明治大学の広報ウェブマガジン「Meiji.
